Well, back at 1999 I've discovered an old engine called KOF91, which was really bad. And than someone said to me there was a superior engine, way harder, called Mugen. Then I started to learn it, but It was a disaster: back at that time, the avaliable tools were a nightmare :)

I got a message from a guy on youtube and he said "you should do music for games...maybe even mugen!"

I was like "What the HELL is that"?

So I searched it on Youtube; my life's never been the same.

the year was around the middle/end of  the 90's
since that time i had a huge collection of roms and emulators... and someday i discovered one engine called kof91.... then a little time later i discovered that mugen could do much more than kof91 and found a place to call home at mgbr on that time...

Summer, 2009. A friend of mine just got me to look up some vids mugen.  After watching alot of fights, I watched the infamous "Chameleon vs Akuma" vid. Soon I was searching for somewhere to download mugen. My first mugen was lowres. It came with spiderman, venom, carnage and that lame Doc Oc. I was instantly hooked. It wasn't until 2012 that I dropped my first screenpack and first contribution to the community.

 :cool memories...

My older brother mentioned it to me as soon as he ran into it. Told me all the crazy match ups that could happen, quickly looked it up and my mind was blown. First match up I remember was Lobo vs Fred Flinstone, was insane to even think about such a fight.

We stopped checking for monsters under our bed when we realized they were inside of us.

For a mistake, i ended up dowloading Marvel Super Heroes Melee Edition (a mugen game) ......

And that was the beginning of everything to me ....

Long time ago, in a past far far away (2007), I was looking at videos of Mario vs Luigi for SSB (Super Smash Bros.). However, I found a video with Mario vs Luigi but in a VERY different way. The sprites were different, the background was unknown to me, and it was all in general SUPER different. Eventually, I did a bit of research on YouTube (finding videos like Homer Simpson vs Peter Griffin, Peter Griffin vs Sakura, Broly vs Mario & Link, etc.) & I was extremely interested by this games obscurity lol. I've even tried countless times to get my own characters and stages (this was when M.U.G.E.N was relativly new to the internet especially YouTube , but I've failed all the time. I couldn't put anything to it, no chars, music, stages, etc. due to the fact that I was 9 years old and I didn't know NOTHING on this type of stuff, so I gave up for a LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG period of time. Only around 2-3 years ago, I learned A LOT on how to add characters and stages, to the point where now I'm making my own chars. So yeah, thats on how M.U.G.E.N & I crossed each others paths to awesome  :) . Btw, M.U.G.E.N was one of the things that inspired me to dove inside the realm of fighting games.  ^:)^ ^:)^ to M.U.G.E.N.

I honestly can't remember that far back, but I think it was Project X back when it first started in 2002-2003.
When THIS was the page:
http://projectx.fateback.com/ProjectxIndex.htm

I'm sure it was the X-Men that got my attention. I don't think YouTube even existed yet.  Youtube started up 2 years after that in 2005.  I think when I was part of the Freedom Force game community, someone linked to it in the forum as something to the the creators from there to help with.

Now I feel old and think I should be better at creating for MUGEN! After all, I HAVE been playing for a decade now... :P

I think I thought it was too hard and afraid I couldn't do it.  It really isn't so hard and I learn more every day.  So if anyone feels like that too, you shouldn't.  Try creating.  It's actually very rewarding and fun.  Even if it IS time-consuming.... lol

there was a video my cousin showed me that had Natuto fighting against another character from a completely different universe. I was blown away. This was 9 years ago. I was determined to play it. Read up on it, installed some characters and off I went  :Terry

I discovered Mugen or should I say better, I was introduced to Mugen in 2006. I was in the army and a friend from the army told me that there was a game where every 2D game and Comic chars of our childhood could be combined into one game and interact with each other.

Some weeks later he actually brought the game and during a leisure time we had in the army we loaded the game and enjoyed playing a lot with other friends!!

I saved it in a cd or usb (dont actually remember) and played a lot with it! At that time I didnt know that I could add more chars and stages.

When I realized that and learning how to do it in 2008 (yeah I had my Mugen for 2 years without any updates lol), I started searching for Mugen chars and randomselect was the first site I came across with Mugen chars!!

I downloaded many stuff from that site but I wanted basically more Comic char content!!

As a result  I started looking for more Comics chars and in 2009 I had my first appearances/memberships in various Mugen forums!!

The end!!  :D

I found out about MUGEN in 2011 in a video with 2 Morrigans from Darkstalker raping each other..... :D
But i only started playing when MvC3 came out and i didn't have a PS3 or the money for it and since i saw Dante, Vergil, Venom and a couple other characters,  MUGEN was the next best thing i guess...

On the April of year 2001, a classmate of mine introduced me to a pc centre which I could do my internet research for school work since I do not have internet connection at home and also for gaming leisure. There were PC fighting games there and I was hunting for Marvel vs. Street Fighter since my local Arcade's Marvel vs. Street Fighter has been removed. Unfortunately, there isn't any at the PC Centre, but other fighting games. I played those fighting games from time to time and I enjoy playing X-Men Children of the Atom most.

After a few months, there were new PC games coming and I look through it to see if there is a Marvel vs. Street Fighter. I came across a CD cover which the front cover had artwork of Lilith, Morrigan and Bulleta. The back cover caught my attention most with screenshots showing Gouki vs. Shingo Yabuki in kof99 raining park stage, Sagat vs. Joe Higashi in kof96's Iori Yagami stage and so on. These cool screenshots were from Neogouki's website: http://ngmc.retrogames.com/ I was thinking was that the PC version of Capcom vs. SNK?

I borrowed it and played it, there were thirty-six characters from Kof, Garou mark of the wolves, Samurai Shodown, Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men and a few others and ten stages from various fighting games where some were familiar to me such as Nakoruru and Jubei's Samurai Shodown 2 stage, Orochi Yashiro's stage from kof97, Mai and Laurence Blood stage from Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 and so on. My first picked was Gouki by VK and this Gouki is very fun to play and I main him mostly. His Zanku is pretty fun to spam :D

I went to school the next day to do google searching about this game by typing the title shown in the CD cover "Mugen version 2000.07.31" and I got into Andre Lopes website as my first Mugen site. There were nude contents in it which almost shocked me to death :o When I visited the What is Mugen? section, it has different select screen and that was where I found out that Mugen is a engine which allows players to make their own fighting game. :Terry
