I wish movie trailer were done more like lead-ups to the movie itself instead of actual scenes to the movies.

like a trailer that can be enjoyed completely on it's own merit, but still get the hype train chugging for what's to actually come.

I dont know much about ultron but having been this trailer it doesn't move me. It made me think of Iron Man 3 just with the armor evil and extra heroes added...

This trailer isn't as good as the first one. Plus, I haven't seen anything that wows me yet. I'm super excited for this, but there's nothing in the trailer that makes my jaw drop and want to see more right away. Maybe I've been desensitized from so many big blockbuster films???

You mean like a 2 minute short that introduces the movie? I like that idea!
Or do you mean, show clips from the previous Avenger films?

Though a studio isn't going to risk that, they need to show them the money shots (in this case, Hulk vs Iron Man fight). But it's Avengers, we're all going to go see it regardless!

No, this is how I feel.  I know I'll enjoy it and it will be good, but just like the Ant-Man trailer, I felt like it was a little "meh". Nothing got me all jazzed up. I wasn't feeling the "threat" of Ultron, I guess.  Yes, he's all scary, but I wanted to see an "example" of the "threat".  What's the conflict?  Him and a bunch of robots?  A raging Hulk? They handled an invasion in the last one...so...same thing. and I've seen them take down Hulk plenty of times. What else you got? Show me.  I'm sure it's there, but all I got was a bunch of confusing jump cuts and prattling on about the stupid "strings" theme again.

BTW, that goddamn Pinocchio song sucks.  I was too distracted with hating it to enjoy the trailer.  I get it, Disney, you're trying to assure the fanboys that your Marvel will be gritty, cool and not "kid-ified" while at the same time, showing your ownership of it by allowing a Disney-trademarked song to be used in it. You're trying too hard now...calm down.

Here's some of my thoughts of the last Avengers compared to what I've seen of the second this far in trailers.

Avengers 1 - already developed characters, first real appearance of Hawkeye (Thor 2 didn't count, IMO) . Assemble team for first time, heroes fight reach other, alien invasion. Lots of action.

Avengers 2 - Hulk vs Iron Man, Pinocchio/Ultron is evil for some reason, evil robot invasion, new characters who may or may not have lines yet, possibly Cap lifts Thor's hammer? Black Widow origin story/flashback? Andy Serkis!

I have to say, for the second movie, what excites me the most is seeing Cap lift Thor's hammer. I really hope to see that.

I still feel like there's a big battle scene they're not showing us yet.

Ive yet to see baron strucker yet, i know he is gonna be in it, my assumption is that Ulysses Klaw is working for him, and cap will be there to stop him, maybe klaw will battle the tchaka black panther and kill him, and the son takes the mantle in end credit scene,
ultron will get taken down by vision, vision being a bad guy turned good by end of the movie,
someone is controlling ironmans tech, and tony is powerless to stop it thus hulk will smash him out of the suit? Or the mind gem is controling Thor and hulk as Thor is severely Pd with stark, and hulk is full on enraged, so there's that angle, Hawkeye might not be affected by the mind gem as he already has been in avengers assemble, thus being one of the few who are not affected, then you got the twins, sheesh!
they'res too many variables to what could happen,
all i know is that baron strucker isn't in the trailers, and that means he might be very well be "pulling strings" muhuhahaha

My guess is that Whedon doesn't want to show anything he might deem spoiler-ish so that's why the trailers are a bit "generic". That way he'll surprise us with the bigger stuff.
