 :| I remember when in the Last Samurai movie a group of ninjas attack the village and use shurikens as their principal weapon. They kill a lot of people even without fighting against them. In some point of the movie someone explains that samurais consider disrecpectful to use this kind of weapons because it could be used in the back, and samurais never fight like this.  Ninjas are more special assassins

But this article in wikipedia tells right the opposite. I'm confused.  @-)

I think a samurai only uses close combat weapons and arrows. bbut could be wrong. If any samurai is here reading, please tell us the truth  ;)

lol Yeah, that's the point that I was trying to make. He is only a Samurai by title only, he doesn't in most instances live up to their honor code.  He has use poison darts, knives, and other weapons that true Samurai would find dishonorable.

Viper is also in the Wolverine movie and she is partners with Silver Samurai.  She could be used in a hyper.

She will probably have green hair by the end of the movie. lol

testing if smart pallet worth
If you're looking for smart pallet concepts, allow me to be of assistance! I've done shiite tons of research on ancient japan, and also played a ton of games with samurai in them, so I've got a pretty good concept for where the smart palleting could be. I'd just do it in my own sprite as an example, but I HATE using the Mac's version of paint, so I'd rather just write it out. I'll do my best to keep it easy to understand.

1 ) Underclothes like you already have done
2 ) Pauldrons and Fauld (Shoulder and Upper leg armor excluding the belt)
3 ) Helmet, Forearm, and Shin Guard Main pieces
4 ) Helmet Crest, Fauld Belt, Forearm and Shin Guard Accessory pieces (The rings on the edges and middle, think Kyo Kusanagi's gloves)
5 ) Chest piece
6 ) Chest piece's emblem
7 ) Hands
8 ) Lower face
9 ) Upper face (Mask)

You could combine a lot of these so that there wouldn't be as much, but these (in my personal opinion) would be the best groups for a smart pallet.

If that's the case, leave the undershirt the same color, the underpants & the feet different colors.

Second one. Definitely the second one. It gives the most pallet options and could make for some cool designs.

At right is failed attempt to make outfit Ilu likes with smart palette, failed because of circle on chest it's too low, at right is what Ralf suggested.
:-?? personally I think those won't be bad and not that hard:
- helm crest separated from helm;
- mask separated from helm;
- pauldrons and fauld separated from armor;
- fists separated from face colors;
- feet separated from underwear;

Yeah, I know, boring rut - going through all sprites separating everything... That's why it's better be minimum of separated stuff. 8=| Yours isn't walk in the park either :D

Those smart palettes looking cool... even if it's more time consuming. :)

Also for new special moves let's keep in mind Capcom's shuriken it's kind his power mutant in a different form... he extends this energy in weapons to cut almost anything. Other weapons could be included in energy form.

A naginata comes to my mind.... not so sure if it's a samurai weapon now. :-??

yes it is.. he could use that cause Samurai did use those during feudal japan era...still have them now.  Chinese arts and even ninjas have them too.

4 pages and he are not even a wip yet.....
after wondering about him, i decide not do any smart pallete, reasons:

- we can have some cool costumes with it, but all his comics cosutmes are just silver, so smart pallete will not really cover different costumes of comics
- he is one of few capcom chars without colors mergeds (exemple cyclops: skin+cosutme+hair)
- im not huge fan of him, will do because we plan to have all x chars around at one project-x game in a far future.

(but if someone want to do it, let me know before start to code, ark? jetthephoenix? acey?)
