Oh I don't care what you do in your free time but this is the ANIME thread and what you posted was american animation and thus it is classified as a ccartoon. (BTW I dont know why people dont just call both of them cartoons but whatever.)

Anyway I still dont get whats so good about this show, I mean it isnt something new for a childrens cartoon to put humor for the parents to enjoy. If they didnt the parents would rather have thier kids watch something else.

You must have missed it, I once wrote a whole TL;DR about that a few years ago here.

...
Anyway I still dont get whats so good about this show...

You'd have to watch to find out.

Yeah, I put it here cause where else am I gonna put it? We're probably gonna change the section name to Animation anyways cause term "Anime" carries segregation by proxy.

The section description does say watch your favorite animated series...

I have, It's just that it has all the characteristics of many other kids cartoons that I have seen over the years and I dont get why more adults watch this one more then they watched the others.

Originally, I thought "Why the hell do so many people love this show?", then a friend suggested I watch it, so I decided to take the chance to figure things out.  I never thought I'd take a liking to MLP.. hated the theme song and toys when I was a kid, so I approached it expecting the worst.  I started off not really caring for the show, really, the first two episodes didn't quite interest me, however I did take a liking to a couple characters. Then like a month later, I decided to give it a second chance, and ended up getting hooked after the fourth episode.  The show has its funny moments and the fanbase is quite interesting.

Thank God you put it in initials, hopefully, because of Otaku influence, most people will not click on this thread.

Ever.

Because it's My Little Freaking Pony, this isn't just simply a kid's cartoon. It's the magnitude of how far on the other side of the spectrum it's aimed at bro.

I just finished watching this.  I probably only noticed a few of these things when I watched the show, like AJ's freckles disappearing and missing wings, but DAMN this guy notices EVERYTHING. Over an hour of it too.   @-)  Though... as entertaining as it was to see all the animation errors, the thing that kept me watching was definitely the music.

Anyone try watching an episode with transcribe audio on?  It can be loltastic at times.  Some of the amusing ones I've encountered are in the spoilers.

Wow... I guess I'm not the only one who loves that show here. The characters are unique and the storytelling is good. I mean, These ponies are kicking the other shows' tails.

But when I get to the theme song, That's what I tune out.

And guys, Don't forget that there's a fanmade fighting game about the ponies coming soon.

\-/o WHY DO YOU PEOPLE LOVE THIS SHOW?!  \-/o

It's a little girl's show based on a little girl's toyline!

You're honestly saying that THIS is better than the likes of say Young Justice, Avatar: The Last Airbender, or even Batman: The Animated Series?!

*looks at emoticon list* where's the Hulk one?

In my honest opinion, thinking that it's just for girls is a rather childish way of thinking. Yes, it's geared to younger girls, but y'know what? So is most anime. And you know what else? Plenty of the viewing audience are male. Straight, even.

Like G said, no one said MLP was better than Batman. Hell, almost nothing is as good as Batman's series. :p But it's a good show. Many of us like it for different reasons. Randomness, the humor, the animation.. Pinky.

Anyway, I have to admit, though. I am still in that embarrassed phase. But I can't deny that it's a funny show and enjoyable to watch.

So is most anime? The most popular ganre of anime/manga in shonen (aimed at boys from ages 12-18). But yeah there are a lot of shojo out there. I myself watched fruits basket for the humor.

I myself never questioned people watching the show because of who it was aimed at. I just didnt find it funny, now that new loony toons show on the other hand I find hilarious. I don't even think it was aimed at children, I mean its rated PG for gods sake. But anyway I find that I liked the older MLP better then this one, but hey thats just me. (BTW my sister watched them both and thats how I have the comparason, also what they did to spike in the new show was unforgiveable.)

To be fair, the Looney Tunes themselves were never aimed at children, but you like the new show? I guess Looney Tunes to me always hearkens back to the classics an compared to those, the show can't compete. But it's still on, so someone's watching.
I wish Duck Dodgers had more seasons, that show was the bomb.

Yeah I know It was aimed at adults and intended to be played at movie theaters before the main show.

Yeah I didnt like the show at fist but when I watched the first episode I laughed too much to not like it.  I loved duck dodgers as well, it should have had more seasons.
