So, Dragon Ball Kai Was Cancelled :|

Toei Animation has announced that Dragon Ball Kai will end with episode #97. It had previously been announced that Dragon Ball Kai would run for 98 episodes, covering chapters #195-420 of the Dragon Ball comic. This change will result in the exclusion of chapters #419-420 of the 519 chapter comic.

Episode #98 was originally scheduled to air on March 27, 2011. However, due to the earthquakes in Japan episode #96 was delayed one week. Episode #97 is now scheduled to air in this final slot, handing the slot over to Toei Animation's next animated series, Toriko, beginning April 3.

How this will affect repeat runs of the series or Toei Animation's release of the series on home video is unknown. It is also unknown how this will affect the multiple international licensees' release of the series.

So this has been official for a couple weeks now and some people say the plagiarized music was a factor too, but I was really eager for the Buu saga.

Ever sence I was little, it would always stop playing the english version of DBZ just at the end of big battle with freeza... that was though when it was on tv, only the spanish chanel would play past freeza, it went well into the Cell Games, back before i got cable out here .

Actually, I believe Akira Toriyama is the one who decided to delete some scenes and episodes.  I watched DB Kai, but didn't like it either.  One thing that stopped me watching this was new voice actors and new theme (but I guess people had to replace some voice actors because some of them are dead).

I want children to watch old Dragon Ball (Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z).

, i remember my reaction when me and my son sat down to watch the episode that was to air the next week , next week came , we popped popcorn , got our soda and my daughter was over with us chillin, we sat down to watch the next episode and ......time paradox?? why did it just got back to...raditz??? WTF!!! all three of us sat there like ... like 3 confused gerbils. i was like ya know what, happens again , i aint watchin it.. yeah happened far too many times. so we quit!!

Yeah, mine is similar to yours (btw, I didn't know you have two children).
When I saw Master Roshi talking, I was like "why didn't they use the voice from Original Voice Actor?" (I mean the one from Japanese version).

yes lando is a dad of 2 beautiful kids , 13 and 10 , well my daughter will be 14 next month. both are heavy anime fans. my daughter is into anime even more than me . and i am very heavy into anime! she takes it very very personal. she even reads all the dbz mangas. she has like 4 entire collections from different shows and just strictly manga only titles. So for her and my son who loves dbz , to see reruns shown after they just watched them  and the story to keep backtracking just pretty much made them lose interest in that DBZ Kai show.  My kids watch everything i watch with the animes and 70's and 80's shaw brothers kung fu movies and are fans of them. excpt spooky movies, my daughter hates spooky movies.    

so DBZ Kai was kinda a big let down for us.

Yeah, I remember you telling me about your daughter (she like Soul Eater, right?).  It's nice to have children who have same hobbies as you do.    My friend's son likes DBZ too.  Even though, DBKai was all right, but the good thing is that new generation/children found out about Dragon Ball series, and they will keep watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z (probably, same thing we can say about new Thundercats).   


In addition, I'm looking forward to watch Toriko.  I've read the manga before, and that one was pretty good too.

In "Yo! Son Goku and his friends return" eveyone had hard grey hair which looked nice.

Yeah, instead of upgrading the old one, people should have remade DBZ anime from scratch. 

btw, I liked "Yo! Son Goku and his friends return".
