OMG this was pure win back in highschool when I spent hours at my friend's house trooping through this game for hours. Hard as heck, but fun when you got your boys slugging it out besides you  

I would so get a Xbox 360 if this will not come out for the PS3. No lie.

Sega announced its Saturn classic Guardian Heroes from 1996 will be coming to XBLA this fall. The remake will have HD graphics, online co-op and new game modes. The versus mode will support up to 12 players online.

This is great news!  Guardian Heroes is a favorite of mine.   Now if Sega would only do something about resurrecting Eternal Champions...

Absolutely!   My hope is that they bring the classic EC back to XBLA, see how popular it is and then get the idea to either reboot the the series on the 360/PS3 or make a proper sequel on 360/PS3.   With today's resources for making games, I'd imagine that it would be pretty sick.  The game has so many great characters (Jetta, Xavier, Shadow and Larcen being among my favorites).. it'd be a shame to see them got to waste when, by today's standards, a truly great game could be made.   If Sega doesn't want to do it, I really hope they'd sell the rights to a publisher who was willing to give it a go.   However, I don't think I'll be holding my breath.  It's very nice to think about though.

You havent anything wrong there man i agree! If Sega was smart theyd just release that old game on XBL like you said. Hell everybody is doing it so why not get paid They could release that one and the other rare one i think was on Sega CD er somethin. it was like EC 2 or somethin that never made it i cant remember But a Totally new one a bit polished like MK9 and with Background stage kills we all loved would be a nice touch

Yeah, the second one on Sega CD was Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side... It was pretty good too.  I liked a few of the new characters added to that.

You're right, it would be a smart move on their part to release the classic game.  That way they could easily get a feel for how many people are interested in the title which is our best shot at a possible new game.   The classic has been buried so long now, that it needs to get some more exposure first, gain some new fans .   And like I said, if Sega doesn't want to do a new game... I truly hope they have the sense to sell the rights and allow someone else to take it over.    I mean, why sit on it when you could be making money?   Seems like a no brainer to me.    After all, if there was ever a time to attempt to revive a fighting game franchise, it's now.   With so many great titles having been released, the genre is very popular again right now.   If they don't catch it before it fades again, then they're not likely to be successful.

Radiant Silvergun is coming too. I've been waiting for Treasure to release Guardian Heroes forever. Now i can finally retire my Guardian Heroes disc.

Now Sega, give us the PS2 port of NiGHTS, and some panzer dragoon games and shining force III
