Sonic Generations announced
« on: April 06, 2011, 01:03:02 AM »
Recently, news came in that a new website domain titled SonicGenerations.com is out to housekeep the next Sonic title. Hold your horses though because typing it in a browser will bring up nothing but a white screen. However we can assume that the next Sonic title will be announced soon. It is already confirmed it's for the XBOX 360, but it's too early to tell if it's going to be an exclusive. The name for the next title appears to be Sonic Generations.

First trailer released.

looks interesting. Must say I was never a fan of sonics's original design, but I know a lot of people were.

But that aside, if SEGA did release this then

Sonic! You can't do that! You'll change the future forever! You'll cause a time paradox!

..Anyways, this catches my interest, and I wonder what type of game it'll be.

The Freedom Fighters better be in this.
Reasons why not:
!.) This is classic Sonic, not SatAM Sonic
2.) Freedom Fighters were created for SatAM (and to an extent, Archie) and are only used in SatAM and comics (Spinball doesn't count)

Reasons Why You're Not Right:

We know nothing about what's actually in the game. It might be a multi-universe crossover.

Spinball counts, you merely don't want to acknowledge a fault in your logic :p

Archie would permit the use of their characters in a Sega game if they wanted to continue running the comic.

::clears throat to begin Sonic Fan Community impression::

This "Classic" Sonic has belt-buckles on his shoes.

He's not suppose to have belt buckles.

I hate it already. SEGA's already ruined it. Guess I'll go play Sonic 2 again and wait for S2HD...

Your right and wrong. Yeah offically he was drawn without the buckles. But if your a ture sonic fan then you know that he was been drawn from time to time with buckles.

its also worth noting that its not officially stated if he has them or not and a lot of the old-school art has his feet facing outward so you wouldn't see them if they where present.

In sonic CD there in the cut scenes but not in doing game play

A bit cheesy, but hey, I'd rather have that then a bad plot that tries to take itself seriously.

What stages would I like to see remade?
Sonic 1:
Marble Zone and Starlight Zone for their awesome music and design.

Sonic 2:
Chemical Plant and Metropolis Zone
They should also add in the stages that were left out of the game, especially Hidden Palace, which had really catchy music.

Sonic 3/S&K:
Flying Battery Zone, Sky Sanctuary Zone, and Ice Cap Zone.

For Modern Sonic, I would like to at least see something from SA1 or SA2.

I really like Sonic 4, so I think that was a fine release, and this looks great as well. Reminds me a bit of the concept of Unleashed, having 2 different Sonics with different mission types.

It'll be released in 2011 and the new console will be released in 2012. So no.

Hopefully if this sells well enough they might consider making a port for the Wii
