I'm loving both the blue and the red screenpacks with a preference so far for the blue.  But how come on the Blue one the list of games doesn't appear between the player selections like in Red?

Also, what is that list for?  To specifically play the Mugen under that particular game's rules/addons/etc?

Blue has that too, you need to change it to the 8400 char version. The list is just there for show, to sort the characters. It doesn't effect anything.

Alright I've had a look at this screenpack and here is my plans thus far. I have both Broken Mugen HD and this screenpack in my Mugen. I run Broken Mugen HD using the 882 bat file and this runs from the Mugen.exe.

This enables me to run both screenpacks and will give me space for all my characters once I transfer them all across. I run this Mugen with the 1344 character select screen.

2 things I don't like though.

1.I intend on changing all the music to my own choice.

2.I wish to replace the lifebars with the VF5 lifebars, is this possible?

To change the music just find the MP3 files and replace them. I don't think there is a mugen 1.0 version of VF5 lifebars.

This is really cool. When I switch to 32 bit depth the screen is not as crisp. Does MUGEN really support 32 bit? I know options under some MUGEN games I downloaded allowed you to have that option though I don't know if it did anything. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind I finally found some info. So only MUGEN 1.1 supports 32 bit depth and it is in closed Alpha stage. Thanks again for this great selection screen.

Is there a way to change the list of game names in the 8400 character select screen. I opened up the select.def file and wanted to change Pocket Fighters to Primal Rage. Though Primal Rage doesn't have a lot of characters. I changed it on the list but it did not work. I couldn't find where else I could change it. Thanks.

Guys, help me. I want to play totall 12 matches before the end. and first opportunity will a guy from order=1 based chars and last opportunity will a guy from order=12 based chars. Now i have to put my settings in the select.def file here...
...
;---------------------------------------------------------------------
[Options]
;Here you set the maximum number of matches to fight before game ends
;in Arcade Mode. The first number is the number of matches against
;characters with order=1, followed by order=2 and order=3 respectively.
;For example, for 4,3,1 you will fight up to 4 randomly-picked
;characters who have order=1, followed by 3 with order=2 and 1 with
 ;order=3.
arcade.maxmatches = 6,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

;Maximum number of matches to fight before game ends in Team Mode.
;Like arcade.maxmatches, but applies to Team Battle.
team.maxmatches = 4,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
...
but how? please help me to put my setting. [-O<

The easy answer would be to say no, but that wouldn't be the whole truth, of course you can but it takes fighter factory, gimp or paint and most of all a hell of a lot of patience if you dont know what your doing. I did it when I used blue it came out all right I spose but when I changed to red I found it easier just to use IMT02 for game chars and IMT03 for comic chars.

If I havn't detered you then this is what you do. Open up the system sff in the data folder using fighter factory classic, find the select screen save it as a pcx. Open it up in gimp or paint swap out the letters for what you want (not as easy as it sounds if your a newbie) convert it back to a pcx replace it using fighter factory and bobs your uncle. although I may have missed a couple of steps somewhere. But thats your lot as I have the attention span of a Gnat
 :) !!!

And mine came out like this.

Anyway hope I kinda helped.

ThatBloke gave a good description of how to do it.

Another way to look at it is that you open the file, extract the one graphic, change the graphic and load it back in. Don't forget to save.

I have no idea how to put in the stages, the characters are fine but the stages i cant put in, how do i do it for mugen blue

 :-??
Example-
Suppose, You download 'kenstageDG' stage. Now, put the def and sff file in stages folder. and then open the select.def file and paste the def file name 'kenstageDG.def' in char put line. Like this....
ken, stages/kenstageDG.def, order=1
Reember, when you add any stage or BGM, must write '.def' and '.mp3/.ogg' after the file name.
Example- Def file- kenstageDG
So, In select def- write 'kenstageDG.def '

Each mugen character should be located in their own folder which is placed inside the "chars" folder. For example let's use [Ryu] by Scar. After downloading this character extract the zip file.
1) Move the folder Ryu_MvC into the \chars folder in your mugen directory.
2) Open the file \data\select.def
3) Anywhere under the line [characters] type Ryu_MvC
4) Save and close the select.def file. Now Ryu is available in the mugen game.
You can add multiple characters this way just by adding each new character beneith the previous one on a new line. Below are some addition details about adding characters to your game:
1) If the def file located in the character's folder has a different name than the folder name then you will need to type out the folder name as well as the full title of the def file. It would look like this
 Ryu_MvC\Ryu.def
2) Each mugen screen pack allows for a different amount of characters to be added to each line of the select screen. This is determined by the [Select Info] section of the data\system.def file. The original mugen default is 2 rows of 5 characters each. You can install any one of various premade screen packs.
Additional Code

You can add additional data to each character's line to determine additional properties.
Want juat a simple RandomSelect?
Well,
Paste only this 'randomselect' on a chars line.

Want to put a chars in random select?
Here...
Paste this in select.def 'randomselect;============= Insert char Here ================'
