My characters dont work... I have spiderman, and hatsune miku (p514's version)
inside the folder of the character is the .def file; make sure the name of this file matches the name of the folder.
make sure that the name of the char is the same in both the char folder and in the select.def file
example char folder/spiderman= select.def/spiderman.def

EDIT: aww man, it didn't work. Im gonna try redownloading.
Thats probably not nesscary. let's troubleshoot this guy.
step 1. download your char
step 2. unrar the char (note: if you right click the rar file and extract to folder then the char will be in two folders, to fix this go into the folder and copy the folder inside into the char folder of your mugen
example: spiderman folder/ spiderman folder inside that folder/ copy this folder/ paste inside char folder of your imt screenpack)
step 3 now that spidermans folder is in the char folder; open the char folder and then open spidermans folder. in the folder there will be a .def file. Make sure that the name associated with this folder has the same name as the folder for the character. A easy way to do this is by simple copy and pasting the name of the folder and renaming the def file wih the copied name.
step 4. go to the data folder under the char folder in your mugen and open up the mugen cfg file with notepad. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! scroll down to the select def options. you will see 4 options here....
;--------------
;|==Option 1==|
;--------------

;Category menu that can display up to 8400 characters
motif = data/IMT01/system.def
;--------------
;|==Option 2==|
;--------------

;Small icon menu that can display up to 1344 characters
;motif = data/IMT02/system.def

;--------------
;|==Option 3==|
;--------------

;Normal size icon menu that can display up to 336 characters
;motif = data/IMT03/system.def

;--------------
;|==Option 4==|
;--------------

;Normal size icon menu that can display up to 70 characters
;motif = data/IMT04/system.def

 notice the line i have underlined? Do you see that every line but this one has a semi-colon beside it? No semi-colon means that is the select def file im using. so look at yours and see which option doesn't have a semi colon and close the notepad.

now that you see which def file is selected go to the imt folder with the number of the option. in my example you see it is option 1 so i would choose imt01
 step 5. open your selected imt folder and open the select.def file inside. scroll down until you see charname[001]. highlight that line and then type in Spiderman.def there and go to file and save. remember that with any char you add to always put the folder name first followed by .def.
Let me know if you still have problems, I'm helpful like dat :Terry

Marvel vs.
what happens when you try to scroll down to the marvel vs. catogory? with the 8000+ def file if the charnames are out of line then you have to press right and then down until it allows you to change catogories.

Additional information: If you want to increase the pixle quality of your mugen here you can open the mugen.cfg file, look for the [config] section and change the gamewidth and game size to the following:

GameWidth = 1280
GameHeight = 960

This will increase the clarity of the sprites, especially in IMT02 where the sprites are fairly small. The default is set to 640, 480 since the larger resolution would have been a pain for some users. I will also be including this information in future updates of the screen pack.

I haven't been to this site (or played mugen) in over five years.
I am very seriously impressed with how far you (all of you!) have brought it!

Question about this screenpack, is there an option for Fullscreen?
At 1280/960 the width is a little too short and the height is a little too high
for my computer monitor.  Also, I'm going to hook my computer to my 72'' TV
and I don't even want to begin trying to find the resolution for that via trial-and-error!

Thanks in advance!!

Go to the mugen cfg in your data folder and scroll to the video section
[Video]
;Width  = 1280
;Height = 720
Depth = 16
VRetrace = 0
FullScreen = 0
BlitMode = Normal
RenderMode = System
 were it say's full screen = 0 change that to a 1. Also the width and height that i have sets were great for my 72" so go with it, just make sure you have a quality HDMI cable.

It's to bad everybody doesn't understand that message Acey. There some real a$$holes in the mugen world than are quick to look down on PPl like myself who relatively new to mugen but trying to learn to contribute to the community (Not here BTW, I like it here) and run off some of the talented people like werewood, that dude could sprite man.

I have only just begun learning C programming,
so I'm quite a ways off from actually producing anything.
Even relatively minor adjustments are beyond me at this point.

Right now, I just want a good, working version of mugen with
all of my favorite fighters over the last 20+ years... You know,
the battles we all talked about as kids (at least in my generation).

Anyway, the more I learn about this screenpack, the more I like it.
And yeah as Cayne alluded to above, there are a lot of mugen
communities out there, but after lurking in most of them for a few
weeks now, I really feel like this is the most active and friendly of those
I have found.

Keep up the great work, you rock!

Hmm, I'm having a little trouble and I have no idea what is causing it:

Rather than "installing" the screenpack, which I have never been able to
get to work, I have been playing out of the .exe link that comes with the
screenpack.

The game randomly freezes sometimes, and Japanese characters show up
on the screen... Actually it looks like the move lists?  If I didn't know any better
(and I actually don't!) I would say it looks like the AI is checking the moves lists??

It doesn't seem limited to a single character.
The only stage I have is the one that came with the screenpack.
It shows moves for both my character and the AI characters.
It happens in Arcade and Team Arcade modes, and even "Watch".  (Haven't tried versus yet)
Sometimes it seems to scroll through the "moves list" with a cursor.
Sometimes it seems to scroll through the "moves list" with a small plane.
I did change the button configuration but it is still on the keyboard, not any joysticks.

This doesn't happen with my "normal" mugen wihout adjustments, which
has only 12 characters?

What could cause this??
Could I have done something wrong on the .cng file when I changed it to fullscreen?
Do I need to find out how to "install" it properly rather than playing through the .exe
that came with the screenpack download?

It's likely a character or a stage in the pack (probably a japanese one) is broken. You can remove the character or stage once you figure out which one it is. Perhaps take a screen shot next time you see the error message.
