What's smart palette?

So I heared some thing in Mugen called smart palette and I don't understand what it is so can some explain what it is or is it something like fighter factory

It's where you sprite a character in such a way that you can make several different costumes just by changing the palette.

Yes I saw Batzarro's Bane palettes but I want to know how do you do  different palettes  instead of making different colors like really making a outfit or do I have to sprite it myself in fighter factory or is there a program that helps you making different palettes instead of different colors to the outfit which I already know how to do

Sprite so that different parts of the sprite have different colours. This can be done simply in paint. So take his Bane for example.

For palettes I use fighter factory and change the colours so that they are no longer the bright colours as before, but they are colours suitable for the character. Due to different parts being coloured seperately you can make different combinations, like his Bane has one palette where he is topless. It is all done to effective spriting.

Sorry, I'm not that good at explaining things (not so good for a trainee teacher.......)

well I was asking this because I want try to make a character palette without a shirt or with different  shirt ,pants,or hair because it looks awesome and want to learn this new palette style

i think its called "color separation", use the search engine about it in forums on how to do it

Hey thanks but I didn't see anything about color separation :( ,but I found this http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=21132.0     but everyone is still free to help me, like posting  good smart palette tutorial videos or just  articals on other mugen websites that can help me alot
