Stage Problems in Hi-Res MUGEN
« on: April 13, 2008, 02:54:52 PM »
Hey all, I just recently downloaded the Hi-Res MUGEN, but some of the stages I have are not coming out right. (These stages are not necessarily hi-res, they worked on normal mugen.) What happens is, the background appears in a little box in the background, but the characters fighting are on this odd purple background. Can anyone help me? I can make a screenshot if y'all have no idea what I'm talking about...

Thanks for any help.

You can only use Hi-Res stages in Hi-Res Mugen to my understanding.

that's weird, because i downloaded both hires mugen and mugen plus

mugen plus will only play normal lores stages correctly

hires will only display hires stages correctly

am I doing something wrong or is that just the way it is? because i thought mugen plus was hires too but it only plays lores correctly but when i add hires stages to it (even put hires = 1 in the stage info) it only shows my chars fighting at the top of the screen.

hires mugen plays hires but put in a normal stage and it puts it at the top of the screen and blurs and gives chars after effect

It may not be mugen plus then or your putting the hires=1 in the wrong section

[StageInfo]
zoffset        = 220
autoturn       = 1
resetBG        = 0
HIres = 1                      -Make sure it's the last line of the stage info in the .def file

O.k

I have MUGEn with the Mugen Battle Coliseum screenpack. I downloaded the hires-winmugen-stages from Random select. I took the screenpack and installed it and it works fine. The only problem is that regular lo res sages come out to small. Does this mean that I can't install a non hi-res screenpack to  hires-winmugen-stages and get regular stages to work?

Can someone help me I have more lo res stages than Hi res at the moment.

Okay heres the the problems I can think of.

- Reorganize your stuff maybe your really using the Mugen Hi instead of Mugen Plus.

- Don't put Hires= 1 on Lo-Res stages.

- Maybe the Lo-Res stages are not setup on the right axis and thusly appear to be small but really you need to increase the size

Tip: Make sure your stages say Debug= 0. Itll save you on a small percentage of load times.

OK

You where right I was using Winmugen Plus instead of Mugen Hi. Know the only problem is that the Mugen Battle Coliseum screenpack I was using is coming out way to samll. I guess that, that screenpack is not compatible with Mugen Hi. If there is any way to fix this I would appriciate any help. THANKS

You can use Lo Res Screenpacks only if you want to take the time to readjust all the sprites and the usually stuff like selection boxes etc. Its probably a good idea to do this because most of the screenpacks that are made Hi Res are really crappy. First chance I got I doubled the sprite size and selection boxes for zedzdead's Capcom Fighting Evolution Max Screenpack.
