I wouldn't see why not. But If Your Gonna do that then You should use Infinity Cat On Your 360 because it supports 4 on 4 Crazy Battles and Online Play.

stick with the regular xbox..plus you can't even play the game online - it won't register I don't think

its near to impossible..I wouldn't bother with trying to modify it..the 360 is having enough hardware issues as it is lately. hell, mine is out for repairs..and if you do manage to mod a 360..and it does work..but your 360 dies because of a hardware failure..

you are out 400 bucks..Microsoft won't repair a modded system.

my suggestion is to mod an xbox & do it on that platform..

but in your case..I wouldn't persue the venture

that's a dvr video of my 360 loading linux.  I bought my 360 first day.  It has been repaired 2x by microblows.  But it still failed with 3 rod.  So I got medieval on that thing and did these fan shroud mod and xclamp removal:

http://blog.reloadsystems.net/2007/08/14/x-clamp-replacement-and-shroud-mod-360-rol-fix/

result is many hours of fun playing viva la pinata.  Lol.  Any my gpu is noticeably cooler due to improved heat venting.

I am a linux newbie.  Also a powerpc newbie.  I am busy understanding it when not playing games so that I can attempt to run homebrew.

What I have done is not adviseable if you are a gamer not a modder.  I enjoy modding things so I bit the bullet and went for it.  The catch is until someone figures out how to emulate the latest kernal dashes I cannot play new games which force you to update (thanks microblows)  But since a bud loves my work I can just borrow/play his 360 when I want to play a new game.

um...

A) Microsoft doesn't blow
B) what the hell does King Kong have to do with mugen?

I was talking about modding the 360 in order get mugen on it..nothing else

also, you can display videos dude..there's a youtube button for it. see this is the video you linked to

just press the youtube button, and copy the last part of the URL after "watch?v=", in this case, it would be "T8tQtpKKVao"

i think if you ever look at the first edition of xbox 360 microsoft gpu heatsink (basically pretty cheap)/internal structure you can kinda tell they are at the very least questionable. (not even going to talk about vista...) Also I simply posted the link in response to this comment re 360 "its near to impossible..I wouldn't bother with trying to modify it" lol.  I trust it is still acceptable?  I had no desire to clutter up the thread with the vid but if you feel it merits it thanks!  I got a kick out of that one.  The flashing of the drive is getting pretty easy these days.  Various methods and not at all impossible.  The linux hack may require some reading but again not impossible.  Just trying to dispel this misperception.

King Kong shader hack = Linux on 360 = ?

Basically depending on your skill level you can do quite a bit.  I think in the coming months it will be more apparent what fellows like myself and others have been toiling over. ...

I've heard that lately they are giving you a brand new system that has different parts on the inside instead of fixing yours. Only reason they are doing this is probably when they announced the extended warranty. Hopefully these newer ones wont give any trouble, I still need to send mine in. I need to play some of that Bioshock on a working system. At least i'll have Metriod Prime 3 next week to keep me occupied till I fix my 360 :P

Well I am pretty swift.  I waited to flash my drive till after my second repair.  My 360 crapped out pretty early.  I think at 3 and 9 month marks.  I never got the better gpu heatsink they give now which kinda sux.  When it failed the third time I had to knuckle down and get the drill and artic silver out....

The first problem with Mugen on 360 is when modded with the hack it's really a power pc.  Linmugen is not compiled for power pc.  but I have several ideas.  Lately Viva La Pinata has been taking precious time from this endeavor.  One Idea I have tossed around is emulating windows via tiny xp then loading winmugen.  Another was to emulate the linux gentoo setup we use for xmugen....

Heaven Hood is coming along.  Please dont be rude to my friend.

bioshock looks amazing!  I am sorry about ur 360....

Although I don't have an XBox 360 what I'd rather do is just use my XBox 360 controller on my PC and hook it up to like a TV screen =P.  Therefore no modding... especially since XBox 360 controllers have USBs on them.

have you tried to use joy to key?

I used it so I could play psp games on my pc with 360 controller....haven't tried with mugen....generally I think xmugen is superior to this idea for a very missunderstood reason.

winmugen=hack of Linmugen

this cause winmugen to be unstable.  It crashes from time to time.

Believe it or not if you have linmugen properly coded it will crash almost never....The reason i say almost is simply because new chars come out and updates can very rarely cause conflicts depending on stage super etc.  but that is usually a mistake made in coding.  After much study linmugen is 100% more stable...I personally don't feel dpad on 360 controller is done well.  another advantage of xmugen is ability to use arcade sticks.  Convert xbox into a mugen arcade cab even.  It's been done.

If you need help with xbox1 mugen pm me....I will help best as i can...
