I don't like it.  :|  :(

It's changed so much that it's only a Yu-Gi-Oh "spinoff" because of the cards, otherwise it's just another anime to me.  :-??

idk i watched ep 1 and was the ehhh!? havent watched ep2 to yet. i gonna  try n give it a chance.

I thought Yu-Gi-Oh was going to be, simply, the adventures of the Pharaoh through different time periods, despite his story having been concluded.  However, he was heralded as the king of games, which would make sense for him popping up again.

I hate the main character, and the anime as a whole this time: 5D's was a step forward, Zexal is 200 steps backwards imo.
Exceeds might become pretty broken in the near future as they are more generic than synchros. We will see

That sucks.  Back then, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon was considered to be a bad set, but you could at least make a competent deck out of the cards.  Metal Raiders and Magic Ruler were better.

Now, we have to buy a bunch of packs of cards to make something that at least works.  I hate themed decks.

Eh, I was hoping my ramblings about the new booster sets would spark some sort of debate, but Yu-Gi-Oh is apparently dead now.

Cards that are worth more than a hundred dollars outside of japan is not what i call something dead.
Still,i agree that the booster sets have become worse, more focussed on archetypes and anime cards than on generic support for any decks. I wish more generic and accesible support would be released in the second zexal booster set(or even in the first one,as we never got it yet)

Yeah, pot of duelity and the six sams are rediculously expensive. I'm glad that only my friends play Yu-gi-oh now and we all agreed to proxy.

I just run gradius related cards and whatever I think looks cool.

Big core is really fun if it ever gets working properly. but only 1 honest hurt the gradius ships way too much.

I guess you're right, but the high prices don't necessarily mean the game is as active as it once was, think Supply and Demand.  There are about a dozen Jump Cyber Steins out there, with only like 3 of them for sale, each at around $500.  Kinda high for a card that's Forbidden IMO.

I guess the game evolved a bit too quickly for me, cause spending 4 bucks on a booster pack was already ludicrous, but now you literally have to buy a box of the newer cards JUST to make a functional deck, as some of the newer rare cards only work right when used in certain deck types.

I remember Magic Jammer and 7 Tools fondly, but they have been replaced with a less costly and more versatile version, Dark Bribe.  Now that's a change I can agree with.

And Whip, I was thinking about using the Cores as defenders instead of attackers, especially if there happens to be one with higher stat than most monsters can match, so that if they want a direct attack, they'll need to attack your 2700 ATK monster head on.  Three times.  Or you can use them as 'Standing Defenders', sitting in Attack position and never attacking.
