Title: IMT Mugen 1.0 Blue Screen Pack 2011
Post by: Acey on February 22, 2011, 12:52:55 PM
International Mugen Tournament Screen Pack
For MUGEN 1.0

Here is the full IMT Screen Pack (Blue) for Mugen 1.0. Since the Blue screen pack was downloaded 20% more than the Red screen pack I decided to start with converting this one to Mugen 1.0. Features are as follows:

* Contains Elecbyte's January 2011 Mugen 1.0 release
* All original graphics have now been upgraded to HD quality
* Fully animated Load screen, Title screen, Option screen, Select screen and Versus Screen
* Custom Fonts
* Custom Soundtrack
* Custom EoH version 1.0 lifebars complete with all new custom fight texts
* All new FightFX file with custom hitsparks and upgraded hitsounds, all matching mugen standards
* Portrait 9000 [0,2] compatability with mugen standards
* Includes the new "Victory Quote" screen
* As seen before, this screen pack allows for a variety of select screen layouts, and due to popular request this also includs a new 4th, smaller roster variation:

Variation 01 - Holds up to 8,400 characters
Variation 02 - Holds up to 1,344 characters
Variation 03 - Holds up to 344 characters
Variation 04 - Holds up to 70 characters (which is set to hide excess squares unless filled with a character)

This Screen Pack also comes packaged with Warner's updated Kung Fu Man (MK and MB compatible) and IMT's Infinity Moon Stage. To switch the screen pack Motif variations read the documentation comtained with the download. Enjoy!

I reuploaded the file with a minor 1.0 change to the fight.def

Code: [Select]
[FightFx]
 scale = 2

and and edit to the music of the Load Screen.

I want this to be my main Mugen SP, However I just have a few questions (being new to Mugen 1.0 ... at first I hadn't even considered changing because I didn't want to loose all my characters and stages to switch to it.   I recently found out that most characters that were made for the previous mugen still work in 1.0.   Is this true for stages as well, or no?

Ok, being new to Mugen 1.0 I just have a couple of questions:

Are the port pics still the same size as old mugen?  (ie 120x140?)  I'm only asking because those ports of Spidey and Green goblin look smooth and crisp like they weren't resized so small.  Also, what does "[0,2]" mean?

Second:  How exactly do you use the "victory quote screen"?   Is there some template you use?

Don't mean to sound dumb.. I just recently started thinking about Mugen 1.0 and I don't know what's changed and what's remained the same portrait wise.

****EDIT****

Ok, I just went in the mugen.cfg and tried to change the motif to IMT04.. but when I save the change and load Mugen, IMT01 is what I get.

1. All characters and stages do work on 1.0

2. 9000, 1 portraits are still the same size, the only times they can get blurry are when screenpacks use a different scale for them
scale = .5, .5 as an excample

3. Don't know about victory screen, I don't see a template included

4.Oh and for switching Select motifs

;motif = data/IMT01/system.def
;motif = data/IMT02/system.def
motif = data/IMT03/system.def
;motif = data/IMT04/system.def

since IMT03 has the semicolon removed that one will load, did you try doing that?

I've been waiting for this since RC1! IMT Blue is great, but I was a little too dumb to fix it myself, so this is great news! Now my MUGEN 1.0 can look like WinMUGEN's awesomeness.

Ah, got it.  Thanks for the help.

Hmm, I'll have to see if there's somewhere I can read about how to use the victory quote screens.

And thanks for clearing up the portrait size question too.. now I can start making new ports.

Add this to a character's CNS file

;Default language victory quotes **MUGEN 1.0**
;The default language victory quotes must be implemented in English.
[Quotes]
; Up to 100 victory quotes can be specified per language (victory0 - victory99)
victory1 = "You must defeat Tu Shou to stand a chance."
victory2 = "You need a lot of training. Come back in ten years."
victory3 = "You look familiar. Did I see you on TV?"
victory4 = "Your moves are too predictable. You want to learn Kung Fu Palm? It's not for novices."
victory5 = "That was a good workout."
victory6 = "I want to challenge more skilled fighters."
victory7 = "What do you mean my girlfriend is in another temple?"

Then edit it as you see fit.

Also the Mugen Standard Victory quote portraits is 320 x 125, is set as 9000,2 and has an X-axis of 100 and a Y-axis of -10. This is all based on the deafult Mugen 1.0 motif.

OH SH- Player 2's powerbar isn't working correctly

Thanks for the heads up, the code to fix P2's power bar is as follows

Code: [Select]
;Player 2
p2.pos    = 0,0
p2.front.anim = 44
p2.front.offset=640,0
p2.front.facing = -1
p2.range.x  = 570,442

This replaces the current P2 code under [Power Bar] in the data/fight.def

I'll be uploading the full file with the fix too. I'll also be implementing the team portraits as suggested.

Thanks alot for the info Acey.   One more question:  Any specific spot in the CNS?  Beginning?  End?

Add your quotes there  :)

Yeah, technically it will work anywhere but the standard placement is after the [movement] section near the top.

Also one more fix to the fight.def (lifebars)

Code: [Select]
p1.counter.offset = 0,[color=red]25[/color]
p1.counter.font = 1,1
p2.counter.offset = 0,[color=red]25[/color]
p2.counter.font = 1,1

When your win count get's over 3 the icons turn into numbers nad the offset for the number was wrong, I had fixed it previously but it got moved while fixing something else.

I also updated the full download.

I totally agree, and I almost made one before release but I spent so much time on the screen pack I just wanted to move on. I took me longer to update the screen pack then to make the original winmugen version. Also the credits would have been like:

Graphics by Acey
Hitsparks by Acey
Lifebars by Acey
blah blah blah by Acey

and music by...

I actually thought of a cool variation on the ending but I'll have to work on it later. I have a lot going on with my characters right now and only 3 of 28 are finished so far (with A.I., 1.0 updates, final touches)

*cough cough*
Lifebar Reports by Oxe... nah jk ^_^ a credits screen would look good though

Also that design of the lifebars just screamed custom portrait...and i actually spent 3 hours making portraits for it  :D

This is now my lifebar and Sp of choice  :thumbsup:

Awesome screen pack!!! I've been waiting for this to be baptized to the 1.0 for a while now. Lol, I refuse to use any other screen pack.

Though I have one slight problem and that's the select curser for the 1344 character select screen. There is no curser so it's hard to tell where you are when going through the roster.

I've had to strain my MUGEN memory (and alphabet) to work out were my chars are in the IMT02 version.

THe HD menus have me staring at them long enough to make a Watch battle start. ;*))

Oh, I see, add this code to the bottom of IMT02/system.def

Code: [Select]
[Begin Action 153]
153,0, 0,0, -1

Updating online download.

Acey, so far the only character that I have that's given a problem working in the new Mugen is Banshee.   I did see him in your screen shots, though.  Can you tell me what I have to change to make him compatible?  Is it something specific or a lot of things?

**Edit**
Never mind, I got it.   For anyone else wondering:  Just change the mugen version in Banshee's Def to this = 1.00 (2011.01.18).  I changed that and he worked for me.

Yeah, I will be releasing all my chars throughout the year compatible with both winmugen and mugen 1.0.

Post by: Acey on February 28, 2011, 03:23:14 PM
Additional information: If you want to increase the pixle quality of your mugen here you can open the mugen.cfg file, look for the [config] section and change the gamewidth and game size to the following:

GameWidth = 1280
GameHeight = 960

This will increase the clarity of the sprites, especially in IMT02 where the sprites are fairly small. The default is set to 640, 480 since the larger resolution would have been a pain for some users. I will also be including this information in future updates of the screen pack.

Tunglashor's software allows you to actually move the character icons around on the select screen, this way you don't even need to open the select.def to add and arrange characters.

Yes, first was the IMT screen pack (blue), we just finished updating the Megaman:Robot Master Mayhem project into Mugen 1.0, next will be SMvC: EoH and most likely Project X will be converted over as well, time will tell for sure.

in the SP Im using IMT 1 the list of games to select my chars, what I'd like to do and even if this means changing the graphic is too change the category's of the games, how would I go about this and its just for private but if you like the results I'll happily release it for others as a patch or something, your help is much appreciated.  :thumbsup:

cheers

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing but the previous versions of these screen packs were only available for WinMugen Plus.

Besides, it is time to upgrade to Mugen 1.0, which is exactly why I took time out of my other duties just to make this screen pack with the 4 varieties of select screen, because we need everyone to switch and start taking full advantage of mugen.

i would but not all characters i have are converted or probably wont be since they are 2-3 years old
green screenpack like soniku2 says sounds cool (acidic version)
or a mixed screenpack with elements of both red n blue like i have as i mentiond before

Great job m8, im still using winmugen myself and was looking for a cool screenpack to move on to v1.
Downloaded both blue and red to try them out, i would say i prefer red's music and fonts, but still, its red:P
got a question for you, tried adding a RANDOMSELECT slot on select.def and the question mark i got, was too big, was using the 1000+ slots, since thats what i was planning on using.
am i doing something wrong? if i get this fixed, count me in for using ur sp:) thank you for taking the time to grand us this opportunity, keep up the good work!!

No I get the same, its 4x too big.

PS you can take the music from Red and put it into Blue. Or make your own.
In my MUGEN its all Minibosses, Metroid is the Main Menu, Ninja Gaiden is Select screen.

Think i had the same broblem in another screenpack and had to change another option in mugen.cfg, but i dont remember what. Trying to find it on internet, but im getting nowhere so far...

The random select icon on version 2 has been fixed and uploaded. The fix is on the system.sff file and IMT02/system.def. Just copy thee files over to your old version and that should do it.

I'm loving both the blue and the red screenpacks with a preference so far for the blue.  But how come on the Blue one the list of games doesn't appear between the player selections like in Red?

Also, what is that list for?  To specifically play the Mugen under that particular game's rules/addons/etc?

Blue has that too, you need to change it to the 8400 char version. The list is just there for show, to sort the characters. It doesn't effect anything.

Alright I've had a look at this screenpack and here is my plans thus far. I have both Broken Mugen HD and this screenpack in my Mugen. I run Broken Mugen HD using the 882 bat file and this runs from the Mugen.exe.

This enables me to run both screenpacks and will give me space for all my characters once I transfer them all across. I run this Mugen with the 1344 character select screen.

2 things I don't like though.

1.I intend on changing all the music to my own choice.

2.I wish to replace the lifebars with the VF5 lifebars, is this possible?

To change the music just find the MP3 files and replace them. I don't think there is a mugen 1.0 version of VF5 lifebars.

This is really cool. When I switch to 32 bit depth the screen is not as crisp. Does MUGEN really support 32 bit? I know options under some MUGEN games I downloaded allowed you to have that option though I don't know if it did anything. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind I finally found some info. So only MUGEN 1.1 supports 32 bit depth and it is in closed Alpha stage. Thanks again for this great selection screen.

Is there a way to change the list of game names in the 8400 character select screen. I opened up the select.def file and wanted to change Pocket Fighters to Primal Rage. Though Primal Rage doesn't have a lot of characters. I changed it on the list but it did not work. I couldn't find where else I could change it. Thanks.

Guys, help me. I want to play totall 12 matches before the end. and first opportunity will a guy from order=1 based chars and last opportunity will a guy from order=12 based chars. Now i have to put my settings in the select.def file here...
...
;---------------------------------------------------------------------
[Options]
 ;Here you set the maximum number of matches to fight before game ends
 ;in Arcade Mode. The first number is the number of matches against
 ;characters with order=1, followed by order=2 and order=3 respectively.
 ;For example, for 4,3,1 you will fight up to 4 randomly-picked
 ;characters who have order=1, followed by 3 with order=2 and 1 with
 ;order=3.
arcade.maxmatches = 6,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

 ;Maximum number of matches to fight before game ends in Team Mode.
 ;Like arcade.maxmatches, but applies to Team Battle.
team.maxmatches = 4,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
...
but how? please help me to put my setting. [-O<

The easy answer would be to say no, but that wouldn't be the whole truth, of course you can but it takes fighter factory, gimp or paint and most of all a hell of a lot of patience if you dont know what your doing. I did it when I used blue it came out all right I spose but when I changed to red I found it easier just to use IMT02 for game chars and IMT03 for comic chars.

If I havn't detered you then this is what you do. Open up the system sff in the data folder using fighter factory classic, find the select screen save it as a pcx. Open it up in gimp or paint swap out the letters for what you want (not as easy as it sounds if your a newbie) convert it back to a pcx replace it using fighter factory and bobs your uncle. although I may have missed a couple of steps somewhere. But thats your lot as I have the attention span of a Gnat
 :) !!!

And mine came out like this.

Another way to look at it is that you open the file, extract the one graphic, change the graphic and load it back in. Don't forget to save.

I have no idea how to put in the stages, the characters are fine but the stages i cant put in, how do i do it for mugen blue

 :-??
Example-
Suppose, You download 'kenstageDG' stage. Now, put the def and sff file in stages folder. and then open the select.def file and paste the def file name 'kenstageDG.def' in char put line. Like this....
ken, stages/kenstageDG.def, order=1
Reember, when you add any stage or BGM, must write '.def' and '.mp3/.ogg' after the file name.
Example- Def file- kenstageDG
 So, In select def- write 'kenstageDG.def '

Title: Re: IMT Mugen 1.0 Blue Screen Pack 2011

Each mugen character should be located in their own folder which is placed inside the "chars" folder. For example let's use [Ryu] by Scar. After downloading this character extract the zip file.
1) Move the folder Ryu_MvC into the \chars folder in your mugen directory.
2) Open the file \data\select.def
3) Anywhere under the line [characters] type Ryu_MvC
4) Save and close the select.def file. Now Ryu is available in the mugen game.
You can add multiple characters this way just by adding each new character beneith the previous one on a new line. Below are some addition details about adding characters to your game:
1) If the def file located in the character's folder has a different name than the folder name then you will need to type out the folder name as well as the full title of the def file. It would look like this
 Ryu_MvC\Ryu.def
2) Each mugen screen pack allows for a different amount of characters to be added to each line of the select screen. This is determined by the [Select Info] section of the data\system.def file. The original mugen default is 2 rows of 5 characters each. You can install any one of various premade screen packs.
Additional Code

You can add additional data to each character's line to determine additional properties.
Want juat a simple RandomSelect?
Well,
Paste only this 'randomselect' on a chars line.

Want to put a chars in random select?
Here...
Paste this in select.def 'randomselect;============= Insert char Here ================'

inside the folder of the character is the .def file; make sure the name of this file matches the name of the folder.
make sure that the name of the char is the same in both the char folder and in the select.def file
example char folder/spiderman= select.def/spiderman.def

EDIT: aww man, it didn't work. Im gonna try redownloading.
Thats probably not nesscary. let's troubleshoot this guy.
step 1. download your char
step 2. unrar the char (note: if you right click the rar file and extract to folder then the char will be in two folders, to fix this go into the folder and copy the folder inside into the char folder of your mugen
example: spiderman folder/ spiderman folder inside that folder/ copy this folder/ paste inside char folder of your imt screenpack)
step 3 now that spidermans folder is in the char folder; open the char folder and then open spidermans folder. in the folder there will be a .def file. Make sure that the name associated with this folder has the same name as the folder for the character. A easy way to do this is by simple copy and pasting the name of the folder and renaming the def file wih the copied name.
step 4. go to the data folder under the char folder in your mugen and open up the mugen cfg file with notepad. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! scroll down to the select def options. you will see 4 options here....
;--------------
;|==Option 1==|
;--------------

;Category menu that can display up to 8400 characters
motif = data/IMT01/system.def
;--------------
;|==Option 2==|
;--------------

;Small icon menu that can display up to 1344 characters
;motif = data/IMT02/system.def

;--------------
;|==Option 3==|
;--------------

;Normal size icon menu that can display up to 336 characters
;motif = data/IMT03/system.def

;--------------
;|==Option 4==|
;--------------

;Normal size icon menu that can display up to 70 characters
;motif = data/IMT04/system.def

 notice the line i have underlined? Do you see that every line but this one has a semi-colon beside it? No semi-colon means that is the select def file im using. so look at yours and see which option doesn't have a semi colon and close the notepad.

now that you see which def file is selected go to the imt folder with the number of the option. in my example you see it is option 1 so i would choose imt01
 step 5. open your selected imt folder and open the select.def file inside. scroll down until you see charname[001]. highlight that line and then type in Spiderman.def there and go to file and save. remember that with any char you add to always put the folder name first followed by .def.
Let me know if you still have problems, I'm helpful like dat :Terry

Additional information: If you want to increase the pixle quality of your mugen here you can open the mugen.cfg file, look for the [config] section and change the gamewidth and game size to the following:

GameWidth = 1280
GameHeight = 960

This will increase the clarity of the sprites, especially in IMT02 where the sprites are fairly small. The default is set to 640, 480 since the larger resolution would have been a pain for some users. I will also be including this information in future updates of the screen pack.

I haven't been to this site (or played mugen) in over five years.
I am very seriously impressed with how far you (all of you!) have brought it!

Question about this screenpack, is there an option for Fullscreen?
At 1280/960 the width is a little too short and the height is a little too high
for my computer monitor.  Also, I'm going to hook my computer to my 72'' TV
and I don't even want to begin trying to find the resolution for that via trial-and-error!

Thanks in advance!!

Go to the mugen cfg in your data folder and scroll to the video section
[Video]
;Width  = 1280
;Height = 720
Depth = 16
VRetrace = 0
FullScreen = 0
BlitMode = Normal
RenderMode = System
 were it say's full screen = 0 change that to a 1. Also the width and height that i have sets were great for my 72" so go with it, just make sure you have a quality HDMI cable.

That's the best part about mugen too, making it your own.

It's to bad everybody doesn't understand that message Acey. There some real a$$holes in the mugen world than are quick to look down on PPl like myself who relatively new to mugen but trying to learn to contribute to the community (Not here BTW, I like it here) and run off some of the talented people like werewood, that dude could sprite man.

I have only just begun learning C programming,
so I'm quite a ways off from actually producing anything.
Even relatively minor adjustments are beyond me at this point.

Right now, I just want a good, working version of mugen with
all of my favorite fighters over the last 20+ years... You know,
the battles we all talked about as kids (at least in my generation).

Anyway, the more I learn about this screenpack, the more I like it.
And yeah as Cayne alluded to above, there are a lot of mugen
communities out there, but after lurking in most of them for a few
weeks now, I really feel like this is the most active and friendly of those
I have found.

Keep up the great work, you rock!

Just don't get like me man. My roster is rediculous with everybody from SF1 to Guilty Gear and it was a mug to balance their stats lol. Android 16 vs fulgore is pretty crazy lol

Nah, "balance" is over-rated.  Overcoming the fairness-gap is half the fun!

Hmm, I'm having a little trouble and I have no idea what is causing it:

Rather than "installing" the screenpack, which I have never been able to
get to work, I have been playing out of the .exe link that comes with the
screenpack.

The game randomly freezes sometimes, and Japanese characters show up
on the screen... Actually it looks like the move lists?  If I didn't know any better
(and I actually don't!) I would say it looks like the AI is checking the moves lists??

It doesn't seem limited to a single character.
The only stage I have is the one that came with the screenpack.
It shows moves for both my character and the AI characters.
It happens in Arcade and Team Arcade modes, and even "Watch".  (Haven't tried versus yet)
Sometimes it seems to scroll through the "moves list" with a cursor.
Sometimes it seems to scroll through the "moves list" with a small plane.
I did change the button configuration but it is still on the keyboard, not any joysticks.

This doesn't happen with my "normal" mugen wihout adjustments, which
has only 12 characters?

What could cause this??
Could I have done something wrong on the .cng file when I changed it to fullscreen?
Do I need to find out how to "install" it properly rather than playing through the .exe
that came with the screenpack download?

It's likely a character or a stage in the pack (probably a japanese one) is broken. You can remove the character or stage once you figure out which one it is. Perhaps take a screen shot next time you see the error message.

When you put an order number at the end you need to include the "includestage" code as well.

charname,stages/stagename.def, includestage = 1, order=8

Since there has been an official 1.1 release and with the gaining popularity of the 1.1 stages, will we see an IMT 1.1 screen pack red/blue release?  Or possibly even instructions on the merge since both 1.1 and the IMT packs are released as complete MUGEN directories.  I'm a huge fan of the categorical IMT01 and would love to use that screen pack with 1.1.

Also thanks for the continued support for these!

Dunno. We currently don't actively support 1.1 since it is a beta. If you want you can try dropping the mugen.exe file into the screen pack folder and let us know what you get.

Hi how are you doing today, I have a question about this screen pack is how do you add characters to this screen pack?... I'v been trying to add characters but don't seem get through any suggestions?
