Here is a look into some of the new sprites going into Human Torch for the Super Marvel vs. Capcom - Eternity of Heroes game. I thought it would be a nice bonus to give you a little more of the select screen too. I hope everyone enjoys.

Much better, I think that's a big improvement. :thumbsup: I think XBoy's sprites are alright, but these are much greater IMO. Just wish he'd of finished Doc Ock as that one was looking amazing to me.

If I were you guys though I'd definitely think about giving Surfer a new stance and run 'cause I really don't see those boxer type motions fitting him. :-??

Acey that is so awesome and that select screen is so super hero like, oh yeah, see thats what i'm talkin about!!!! :thumbsup: Acey, i dont kno if you have already but now i'm gonna go make music for that fantastic 4 stage in the video..... It would help out alot better if i could see the stages you guys had, then i would kno what type of music to make, but um its ok, cus i kno that all that stuff is top secret, can't say i blame you all.... Anyway um well i hope you like the new tracks.. but um i'm diggin this update on human torch too

Hey Acey, can you work on a blocking sprite for him? If I'm not mistaken, he didn't have a true blocking animation in beta 2.0.

Adding that would be a nice touch.  :thumbsup:

Those new sprites and effects look absolutely amazing, as does the new select screen! Some of his old sprites look odd in red though, like his first 2 hypers and his anti-air move. They could use some orange and yellow highlights. Keep up the great work Acey, you have some serious talent.  =D>

Great improvement.  Looks more like classic human torch that I remember. Now only thing missing is the vertical lines. ;)

By the way..OMG that is a lot of work you are doing Acey...much respect.  =D>

This is a major improvement . I never really cared for the Torch Xboy sprites . Nice job .

The selection screen is awesome . You can see the stages in the box . that's great .

looks much better but imho he would look even cooler without the effect change...the sprited fire in the attack sprites just look ackward compared to the standing flames....would be cool if you could erease them and code the other flames to it ;)

I tried the vertical lines and it just wouldn;t look right, they are too thin to translate to these 100x50 pixel characters.

Business as usual. If you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself (fortunately that's not completely true because I'm part of a team who works really hard too)

About the flames itself...you could use MVC flames (that appears when you are hit by fire projectiles) over his hand, is easy to do on Photoshop.

Nice vid Acey I can't wait for the new Torch.

Hey I have a suggestion, for his super jump, notice when he jumps he uses his regular air jump animation before he takes off the ground, give him a different super jump animation. Just a couple of sprites though. This way the characters super jump will flow more dynamically.

The fire around him is transparent, I don't know if I'd want the human torch to be transparent himself though...

avdol stand (magician red) is a good base for HT but he is wearing pants so i guess a bit of editing is needed.

Its cool so far, but this version is still missing somethings, particularly special to the Torch. He needs flight moves, like a special move were he flies in to the enemy (rams them over), and a hyper move were he shoots up like rocket, and lands like a missle on the enemy.

Side special: he creats a flare, either from lighting up himself, or his hands, or shooting it into the sky (confusing the enemy).

Thanks everyone, I'm really happy with how this is comming out so far too.

Regarding the select screen, I'm so happy with it, the only problem is that it requires special portraits and stages to be picked specifically and set in stone in the game. This means that we'll have some interesting issues when we release the screen pack someday.
