i have a bunch of hi res stages but have yet to look at or use them
i was wondering if its possible to use both low and hi res in the same mugen engine? like if i load a hi res patch (where do i get one) would i be able to use the hi res stages with my mugen?
i guess i never got around to fully understanding it
thanks guys

you can, but you have to resize the image and mess around with the coding if you have to.
-
ok guys give me one good reason i should switch to hi-res
-
Because the stages are B-E-A-UTIFUL.
-
yea but what screenpack i could use on it that would satisfy my needs
-
Well, how many characters do you have?
.....you CAN always just edit any sp to your liking and needs.....

I've seen beautiful low-res stages as well. What's your point?
I'm just annoyed that people like Hi-Res stages just for fact some look "prettier". That seems so shallow to me.

really do you happen to have the link

There is none.
-it takes up more space
-it runs slower
-it has been known to crash you computer, not just your mugen.
- ITS EVIL.

Okay, it all really comes down to personal tastes. Some people like crisp, nice(non-blocky) looking stages, some don't.(But I think its because some people have a boat load of nice stages in lo-res and don't want to seitch over because of that reason. Who knows?)
Now If you're worried about the High-Res hack doing something to your computer,to be honest, I don't know. I personally don't have any problems with it at all.
Oh, and wanting better looking stages is not shallow at all, I just hate the blocky-ness. ^_^

Let me rephrase what I said. I think the act of switching to Hi-res mugen for prettier stages alone seems shallow to me. Not when I have a number of good looking lo-res stages. And I also don't want a mugen that will run slower more often.
So, why am I not going Hi-res?
1) Would play slower than usual at times. It would make recording Mugen videos more of a pain.
2) Chance it could mess up your computer. I'm not going to risk it.
3) Inability to use normal stages. I'm *not* going to get a second mugen, nor will I throw away my stages just for fewer, less pixelated ones.
4) Personal preference. A pixelated screen doesn't bother me. I can play old NES games I like and not want to rip out my eyes. I've had about as much fun with Halo as I did with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. Better Looking != Better.

thanks for the speech

It looks better, It runs faster I.E. less stages less load time + I set my to 60 frames per second, I know it can be a pain switching from thousands of stages to a few dozen but they are far cleaner they even sometimes make the characters look bad but they are beautiful and fun to fight on I for one have a hi and lo res mugen but I prefer the hi res and when someone works out the continue for randomselect characters it will be just as good as the lo res version
all that said stop hatin on hi res it better because its hi res
-
I want just the Title screen and Select screen to be hi-res. ;D
I'll be keeping all my low-res stage, it's just isn't 2d fighting for me if there's no pixel looking.
Pixel makes me feel im in the game world. ;D
-
i just have HI-RES to make HI-RES stages.
besides i read if you get an memory loss your characters get corrupted.
thus meaning you can't play them.
