Snake Man could have a status effect bite move like guage drain or health drain.

While this idea sounds good, shouldn't that be saved for Shade Man?

As for the "burrow under the ground" idea, I'm somewhat relieved that someone proposed that, as I wasn't sure if that would be a good one. #:-S

Yes, this is what I want to try and mimic.

Maybe look at Jinmen's animation? He crawls the way I think you're trying to sprite~

^^(PM)^ though it'll be better as poison, no draining, but health slowly reduces.
Target must be tinted or some animation should be above it to show that the poison
still in effect.

and the poison must limit the p2 to dont use the specials and hypers

only the basics

Now that is very unique attribute that should used imo. that would be one of snakeman's perk as a character in MM. Least he will have something that will make him good and be able to compete. The thong that kills me about snakeman is what kind of character will he be? keep away, rush down, trickster, or all around. Personally now that I think about it he is a snake and snakes are known to be sly, slick, and cunning. That will be something to definitely think about. what do you guys think?

Based on the way he fights in MM3 (usually by trying to mosh Megaman), I'd guess he'd be more of a rusher.  But yeah, seeing as he's based on a snake, your idea is pretty valid as well.  A trickster-rusher combo, perhaps?

This is how I am going to present ideas for moves or intros from now on.

Possible Move

Name: SSSSnake Bomb

Description
He throws out a large snake (not too large) that he throws out that will blow up into a bunch of smaller snakes that could latch onto the enemy and hold them still for a free combo if they are close enough. To make things interesting if you get hit by him throwing it out (which should be a rather slow throw but not extremely slow....in other words you should be able to cancel normals into it but it shouldn't be fast enough for it to combo out of normals to make it fair for others) they explode and latch onto the enemy on contact and then you proceed to combo the opponent. This is similar to tron bonne's special where she aims shoots and the servbots hold onto you for a free combo for her. On block you could have it where when they block the bomb still hits the ground and detonates once it reaches the ground and it explodes and the snakes jump out seeking a victim. to get more specific it should be a total of 4 snakes.....2 could fly left and 2 could fly right so the special move covers snakemans from medium and close distance so it will be quite tactical especially if the opponent jumps in and they think they are gonna get a free combo then boom two snakes get them after jumping the bomb. Once the snakes hit the ground you can have them disappear or keep crawling as projectiles. If you use this move idea you should definitely have other versions of it and that should decide how far and how high the snakes will go. Also if Snakeman is hit the snakes could blowup. You could possibly make the destroyable by projectiles as well to balance it out.

It's Use

Snakeman could also use it for cover by dash(if it is going to be a crawl this will be such a great move to use as he will be low enough to evade most jump-ins) after he throws it to get better position for possible launch. This will be a unique way to get in on an opponent. Its a great offensive weapon that yields sub-par damage with that possible of moving and the possibility of getting you a free combo.

Weakness
Projectile users will most like hit him before he gets it but with the proper usage of this move and other moves I am sure he can find a safe way to get it out with being punished.

Not a bad idea at all, I think we can whip up something like this for one of the different power sets.   :cool

http://www.geocities.jp/yamakichi_do/

I looked through the character I think this might help I'll have to try a few things.   :)

I'm still working on Snakeman when I get the time, life has been Real busy lately.  I also picked up a new wip which isn't helping either...   ;*))  I need to finish some sprites up that aren't quite finished yet, adding in the green on the knees, but I have all the basics done.  18 Basic attacks, Get hits, knock backs, dead, blocks, run, jump, dashes, ect.  Once I finish some things up I'll start adding to the template, it should make a fun video when I'm done.

Does anyone have a cool idea for a hyper, besides for using a big Snake Head like this?...
  >:D

Hmm I wish Snakeman's tail was bigger, then maybe I coule make a tail whip or something.   :-??
Does anyone know if Snakeman does anything new in the Magna Comics by chance?

Honestly that sounds more like a special move....
But why not a hyper combo where he does a few attacks, trips them with his tail, and then does a few more hits- you could also choose whatever you wanted to end the combo at the end, maybe something cool....

As far as specials go, how about a move where his head disconnects from his body and acts like a giant snake projectile? If it connects, then the status effect talked about earlier could be implemented.

I was kind of thinking this for a Snakeman and Toadman intro/Toadman and Hornetman intro/Hornetman and Plantman intro.

Though we would need Hornetman to complete the cycle.

I really feel like Snakeman should have a hyper similar to Venom web, where they get stuck somewhere in the air and he combos the hell out of them.  I'm not sure what a snake would use instead of web, though...

How about some kinda Cobra Strike, similar to Venom's "Venom Fang" special, where he pounces at you in an arc that let's him go over projectiles?

Venom seems more like it would slowly damage the opponent more then stun...Or maybe they flinch every couple of seconds and take minor damage- that gives you a few chances to attack without them being completely helpless.

Yeah the pictures was from Japanese art site known as pixiv.net.  These Japanese artists have some of the best artwork I've ever seen.  They draw original art and fan art.  A lot of my ideas for Plantman's persona came from the art from that site.

Though if Snakeman does a venom like move it would have to look like a data composed venom like the Sigma virus in Rockman X5 since he is a robot.  When it hits the opponents you should see purple programming scan surrounding the robot to make it look like the venom is causing program failure.
