My favorite is still the EVE screenpack at Mugen Infantry by DJ Vans. it holds up to 10,000 and rather than small screen icons used a menu system. It's awesome.

It holds up to 6000 chars

I remember back in the day before my HD crashed, I had over 5,000+ characters that Eskro and I collected during our hunting days.

We would scavange thru of japanese sites and most of the time we would even find hardcore rare's.

Whatever you were looking for 99% of the time I had it and I would just send it to you.

Now I just tend to keep only good playable characters.

I dont keep 4 or 5 versions of the same character, I just choose the best one and delete the rest.

    same here i keep quality chars the only doubles i have is M.bison/vega........he one of my fav chars and ill have double of him till there is a really good SFA3 version

yeah... see, that's a little ridiculous.

personally I don't care how many different versions of the smae character I have, as long as they aren't all clones. I see no problem with having a few different versions of ryu, as long as they all play different enough. if they all bring somethign new and interesting to the table, and aren't broken, I'll keep em.

I play with lots of other people though, is everyone prefers different spins on their characters. plus it makes things like survival mode more interesting.

Damn, that's just crazy. I got a few Ryu's but that's because he's my favorite. All my other Mugen characters don't have doubles like Ryu (cept I have two Ken's, Reu's and Sensei Ken), everyone else, nope. My limit of characters is 150, and I currently have 140. I find it to be the perfect amount. But yeah, my Ryu count is...

Well I have a Organised Mugen  .

I have no problems finding anybody.

Capcom chars are arranged like this: Alpha/MvC,SF3,CvS,SvC

SNK chars are like: KOF/whatever,SvC,CvS

I LOVE the Menu/select screen. It is the most organized way to do your mugen characters IMO. I altered the MFJ screen pack to hold 10,000 characters as well (since the menu system is based on DJ Van's system). It is still IMO one of the best screen packs ever made. I am hoping to see one Hi=Res SP that has a menu select system where it could hold a ton of characters.

As for me. I have over 960 characters. I am not a big fan of having 2 billion edits of one character. I have 6 Ryu

As you can see my Ryus like most of the characters I have are from different games and not just some weird edit. I don't want Orochi Riot Ryu over 9000, that to me is just Evil Ryu with stronger attacks. I do own edited characters like CVS Lilith and stuff like that, but not that much. Most of My characters  are from MANY different fighting games. Heck, I have over 100 anime characters alone. Are all my character super hi quality characters, most likely not, but I don't mind fighting them or having fun with them .
