Leo's looking pretty good so far.

My only critique is his hyper attacks. There's something kind of ... underwhelming about them. I guess part of it comes from the fact that out of the three you have here, only one of them he does by himself, and it doesn't seem to have a lot of pizzazz to it. Maybe you should have a hyper combo with Leo doing some graceful but powerful sword slashes.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought the obligatory melee hyper was over done, but then again so is the fireball but Leo still has a fireball (shuriken). Sometimes I need to step back.

Acey, I'm not so sure about the flow in the sword attacks. Do you plan to use dash effects (like gambit/hayato/deadpool)?

The bomb explosions, shouldn't they be up front?

Not sure about the shuriken hyper. I'd go with spinning attack like Mummy Commando/Carnage.

Yojimbo was a nice touch, I assume you have a concept for Casey as well? :D

well you can still keep it just add more slice poses from existing sprites

also since you did the dark knight intro for batman

how about this for an iconic intro

or the Nintendo cartridge

this could work like arkady mentioned where you select a turtle

from the genesis port

these images are just for fun

final thoughts...I think the trench coat is a must or you can even go the cartoon route and give them rubber bald mask to go with it

I don't remember if you like striker's or not, but going by the movie logic of part 1 and 2

splinter always saves their butt

I'm not planning on swoosh effects for the normal attacks. The animations are very clean and do the job themselves (IMO). I only have the swooshes on the special attacks to help them stand out.

Bomb attack, it's in front of P2, but I didn't noticed it was behind P1, thanks.

The Hyper Shuriken still needs some additional frames, I was thinking of having him strike in a different pose for each throw, we'll see if I end up animating it that far though.

Casey is an interesting case, in the 1990s movie Casey is best friends with Raph, but in the current cartoon he's best friends with Mikey. I'm at odds on which character he would go best with.

He does have some other intros that aren't in the video but not everything listed above. I'll need to save some ideas for the others, just in case I ever decide to make some more turtles. The trench coat could be Raph based on the first movie, or it could be undercover Donny based on the action figures, or Mikey because he wore it the most in the cartoon...

As for Splinter, I don't think he will make an appearance as a striker. I avoid making strikers out of characters who are likely to get their own character someday.

I appreciate all the feedback.

In most Turtles media, Raph and Casey are usually portrayed as friendly rivals. Not sure what his standing is with Leo, so I don't think leaving him out here would be that big a deal

hyper's right about ralph...leave him unless you really want to sprite him

and acey you are right about the trench coat for the turtles

well here's hoping he has an intro with splinter since they have the best student teacher relationship or apple polisher...whatever you prefer though ralph does have a real close relationship to splinter too

So, I had to go back and look at the ninja turtles movies 1 and 2 also the 80's cartoon w/ nephew, who is born in the early 2000's. He enjoys them. It would be nice for this to be a start of a scrolling action game that is continuously getting updates. I'm sure the nephew and I would enjoy playing it. The Leonardo char is very well put together Acey. You have done a very good job, and be proud of yourself. I think the fireside intro is a brilliant idea. Hopefully, his throwmoves are similar to the game, TMNT trapped in time. The player slams the foot soldiers side to side, and another move where the foot soldier is hurled offscreen toward the game camera. Of course the latter would have to be a winning pose or finishing move action.

Kinda off topic.... it would be nice to see a kevin nash sized super shredder (Secret of the Ooze). Hopefully, he's incorporated somewhere.

No fire. I was going to do the first movie version too but ended up not having the will to do it because he looks so... scruffy awful.

aww the first movie splinter was legit...but part 3 you should look at avgn's review it's hilarious...maybe you can give it that wavy talking head like professor x in the xmen arcade game

but both of those splinters are spot on

on another note of love to see your take on the 80's cartoon robot foot soldier...or bebop and rocksteady...simple intro really have him throw a garbage can lid at them to knock them off the screen (or in the foot soldier's case slice in half and explode) ...I mean the cartoon dealt with them the same way to defeat them...so it would make since how leo can take care of them so easy
