Warner Bros. has announced the actress who will play Wonder Woman/Diana Prince in director Zack Snyder's still-untitled 2015 Superman-Batman Man of Steel sequel that will see Henry Cavill return as Superman, joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, along with the returning Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

The role will be played by 28 year-old Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe," Snyder said on the casting. "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Gadot is best known for her role in the second "Fast Trilogy," starring as Gisele Yashar in Fast and Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6. She played a pivotal role in the action franchise as a member of the team of fast-driving vigilantes alongside Vin Diesel and the recently (and suddenly) deceased Paul Walker.

Outside of the franchise, she has played mostly bit roles, so a turn as Wonder Woman, the most iconic female superhero and one of the most well-known superheroes in the world, will be a major step into the spotlight for the actress.

The film is currently scheduled for a July 17, 2015 release.

I literally just read this myself a minute ago. I'm going to give this a week or so to see if this is true or not. I have a suspicious feeling this is made up from a fan. Don't believe everything you read on the internet!
I'd LOVE to see Wonder Woman on film, but not sure if I'd want her in Superman/Batman movie. Unless of course she just makes a cameo or has a very small role.
It would be cool if Brainiac were the villain and tried to abduct Metropolis and Gotham and Wonder Woman's island from Earth.
Anyway, let's see what comes of this...

Having Wonder Woman in this would be far too much and unnecessary when you've got Batman and Superman going up against each other along with (I'm assuming) Lex making it into the mix. If they wanna throw in a cameo by her at the end to further lead into a JLA movie then by all means but not more beyond that.

Also I just have a hard time believing she was cast as Wonder Woman(well they did cast Ben at Bats), I mean she is a good actress and smoking hot but she just doesn't have that Amazon look because she would either have to start eating a lot or they would have to give her a cgi body because she has a small model type build.

I agree, I was expecting a bigger name than hers for Wonder Woman. There's plenty of Hollywood camera trickery to make her look like an Amazon, they won't need to CGI her body.
I'm not sure how reliable comicbookresources is. Either way, this is a good topic to bring up. It is news even if it's not true. I'm fine either way. I'm glad DC and WB are finally moving forward with Wonder Woman. I want a JL movie!

Apparently the Flash will also be in this now.? I also heard Nightwing, Doomsday, and Lex's name pop up along with possible cameos of other JLA members. I'm starting to wonder if their taking so long in naming the movie because it's actually going to be more of a JLA movie itself.

I am 100000 percent these are end movie cameos to push for either individual movies or a JL movie. And this move would be the start of the Heroes coming out. But at the same time......  Batman could not take on Superman if thats the case. Perhaps Batman leads the justice League (which is supported by senator/President Lex) and the after math from the destruction that Clark cause has led to him having to take him down. Maybe Ben Afleck is going to be the brains behind taking superman down. Which would kind of be interesting.

But I'm quite sure they are Cameos.

That coupled with the fact that Man of Steel was horribly written, horribly paced, and to some extent, horribly acted, though that's mostly due to the writing, (as I said before, it tried to be The Clark Knight and fell flat on it's face) has ruined the hopes I had for the future of this franchise.

I don't know, I thought it was a dramatic, deep and realistic interpretation that separated it from Marvel movies. I don't think the franchise would suck THAT fast. Just wait and see the second. And if you still think that sucks, try for a third. Third's the charm.

Maybe you guys forget, Hollywood has many tricks up their sleeves to make people look different than they really are. They can beef her up if need be. They can make her eyes blue with contacts or digitally adding them. However I'd argue her having blue eyes is not the most important feature to fuss over. Look at Man of Steel, Lois Lane was given red hair. I'm guessing this will be just cameos or very minor characters to give people the sense that the universe is as large as Marvel's.

Considering though. Thats a bunch of weight she would have to gain. If I had to guess she is a little over 100 pounds. If even that. If you look at some of the fast and the fury images or videos her arms are really thin and lanky. Its like saying the NEW GUY is going to play SuperBoy. You have to wonder if its safe to have someone gain some needed mass.
