Hashimoto overhaul coming, among other things
« on: October 02, 2007, 12:37:17 PM »
Covering the fatman firstoff:

Hashimoto's getting some new stuff, and some stuff getting rebalanced.
-Roll should work better as a defensive and offensive means, without breaking it.
-Freight Train and 16 Tons swapped places. 16 Tons got reduced damage, but due to Freight Train's power, its damage level is still in the 300 range. Isn't going to count as his ultimate though.
-Blast Furnace projectile moves at double its old speed
-Car crusher doesn't persistently hit someone that jumps onto it when it hits the ground and rolls, though it will now trip standing enemies (crouching enemies will be knocked back)
-New command attack: F,F (or outright running) + HP will do a dropkick. It's a knockdown attack that also counts as a special attack (does the same damage and no block damage though), has the same chain opportunities as the standing HP
-New special. Current tentative name is just "Triple Kick" as it's three successive low kicks while he moves forward slowly. It's kinda a low to the ground version of Bulldozer. It's something to round things out at least. Currently now dubbed "Payloader" given it's similarity to Bulldozer.
-Some of the cancels have been tightened a bit so cases where a certain cancel wouldn't make sense don't happen anymore. Notably the ones to get the biggest cancel tightening are the crouching basics and the standing HK.
-AI improved, more random still
-B and Y buttons will now produce different throws than their C and Z counterparts
-Holding up will no longer interrupt running
-A few more command attacks are going to be added, notably a crouching kick that hits high and a shoulder tackle that starts off from the crouching position. No new leap attacks however unless you count the earlier mentioned dropkick.
-A new super on the way: starts off as a special grab attack spinning the opponent around. If the command is entered again enough times during the move, it'll kick him into 2nd Gear but burn a stock of super. You can go to 3rd Gear, and then Overdrive. Any opponent that gets in the way during this attack will be slapped away if the captured opponent strikes them (in 2nd gear this can hit them pretty hard). If you get to Overdrive the move is treated as his Ultimate attack, though Hashimoto will be worn out and collapse to one knee for a bit at the finale of it. If the move misses the opponent for any reason it'll behave as a lariat instead, just won't be able to kick it up higher (useful against unthrowable opponents like Abyss). In this version you'll be able to move around with the direction keys for some better control, and avoid projectiles. On the flipside the attack only works at all if you're right next to the opponent when you try to use it!
-If there isn't a Blast Furnace projectile out when you use 16 Tons, you can cancel out of the 15 hit of the move into Blast Furnace. However, instead of a fireball, this has Hashimoto blow a massive gust of fire for a single hit on the opponent, making up for the lack of the final blow (but doing a bit more damage for the buck)

Phew! Whatta post!
