Most fans don't realize that the cannisters of ooze were originally extra terrestrial.

In fact, Michael Bay only produces the film. The entire storyline from what I understand was developed with the help of one of the original creators of the Turtles, AND either Michael Bay messed up the description or it was taken out of context, because it has been said that it wasn't exactly so that the Turtles themselves were alien, only the means to make them the Turtles were.

In short, fans like to cry out murder and something else people cry out, while in fact they don't know jack.

The cans of ooze were called Mutagen, right? I'm pretty sure that they were created by Shredder or Krang, maybe both, as a way to make Super Soldiers, but when it didn't work on Bebop and Rocksteady the first time, they flushed it (Not literally) down into the sewers and onto the turtles and consequently Splinter. The turtles changed due to the batch having human DNA from Bebop and Rocksteady in it, while Splinter became a rat from living in the sewers and having spent most of his experience down there with rats.
I'm pretty sure I got that right, but don't quote me on it.

The ooze was made by a corperation and it was dumping cans places.
IT was the 80's so every mega corp was evil and dumping toxic waste, its a running theme in 80's pop culture.

In fact it was the canister that hit Matt Murdock in the eyes, and then rolled into the sewers, and the turtles walked into it. Radioactive not alien.

Hmmm...kinda split on this one. While I LOVED the originals growing up, a LOVED most of the reboot more as it was a darker, more action packed version of the turtles...they were actually like NINJAS in the reboot.

I will defend the 03 reboot to the end. The only falling point of that series was that Fast Foward (Season 6) garbage and even then, that was 4kids getting involved with the development, which Back to the Sewers (Season 7) redeemed it from.

Classic and 03 are both great cartoons in their own right. Maybe this new CG reboots series will do something to make it stand on it's own, maybe. Michael Bay however, he's killing everything.

I somehow doub Kevin Eastmen came up with this idea because Ive been reading the comics reboot by Eastman thats the basis for the upcoming Nik series.

In that Eastmam offers an origion that the Turtles have be reincarnated over all the different reboots over the years since the comics, and actually come origonally from a Japanese family that was killed by Oroku Saki back in ancient Japan.

Kevin Eastman said the movie wouldnt deal with an origin because the comics an Nik series would cover that. He just visioned a movie where the turtles are already heroes, and no need to waste time on an origon story.

So if this is Alien crap it's from Bays tean of yesmen.

One of the coolest moments in a toon I can remember. I told my kid those are Dad's Turtles I grew up with.
