Instert Failure in init.c line 1317? Mugen wont start..

Mugen wont start on my comp now. i was playing it yesterday. i dl and installed a char and the error message poped out as follows: Instert Failure in init.c line 1317. now my mugen wont start. please help or recommented assistance... thnx...

i know this is probably a stupid question, but did u take the char off ur roster then try it again, sometimes that will work

Definitely a character error, I've seen it before (no idea how to fix it, sorry).

1) Are you using winmugen or the most recent Mugen 1.0?

2) This error always seems to be specific to a character, remove the offending char and that should fix it right up.

it happens when you tell your mugen to use p1 pallette in cpu mode.

f.eg there is a char like magneto where it says:

pal.default= 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,

and some are like this:

pal.default= 7,3,1,2,9

so when there is no pal 7 how should the pc use pal 7?

or the pal.default line is missing.

just make shure every single char has the pal=default line or deactivate the pal1 option in mugen.cfg
