EXCELLENT WIP! :) I have a good portrait in my profile if you want to use it for fireman it would be such an honor! ^^(PM)^

Actually at the moment that is his portrait, I like the pic.   ;)
Not sure what the portrait will be in the final product but since you are nice enough to give me the permission to use it, it will include it with the character so it can be easily switched to with FF.
Thanks very much.

Personally, I prefer Calamix's old sprites to the ones you have edited, but that's just me.

Good luck on the project.

Nice work man, I love this character.

but I dont like the shadows on his feets...they are odd.

And the move that he flies through the screen could be done on another way (there is a ease way to do this on photoshop)

good luck man

Wow it's been since November since I posed in this topic.  So here's a update.
I have been working hard on Fireman.  I have 11 out of 12 basic attacks done, run, jumps, duck, dashes and some specials/hypers done.
What has been stopping me form posting is I wanted to bust out a cool video showing progress instead of screens.  All was going good with moving sprites into my base and then I messed it up pretty bad so I pretty much need to start adding from scratch again.   o.O#
Now keep in mind I did NOT loose any sprites, just wasted coding time and my time.  I did manage to snap some screens though.  So I will show a few off for the next three days.  Instead of wasting more time re adding stuff from scratch for a video I am just going to go back to spriting more and finish some of my un-finished sprites.  (No red on legs like in dashes.)
So Enjoy the Screens!

He's looking great. Always love these Robot Masters. :)

Two questions I had though on his look. First, I see above his knee in the first screen he has some red but not in the other screens. Is this what you meant about going back and finishing some sprites.? Second, are his legs a different shade of grays than his body.? Just wondering for palettes sake.

Either way, it all looks wonderful. Keep it up.

Thanks man.
Yes the red on his knees need to be done on a bunch of sprites, it's a pain to do.  I had quite a few idea's for attacks so I wanted to sprite them first. Since I'm stumpted on what to do the final jump kick I am actually drawing the red on the knees right now on some sprites.
They grey is the same on his body. Calamix made it this way to begin with so I stayed with how he did it, I like the shading it makes him different and custom.  In the first post I have a comparison of his version and mine and I show what I did change in the coloring of the legs, and I show a alternate pallet.  ;D

Well it's tomorrow now.  More pics.   ;D

New ducking stance which makes every ducking attack custom, especially the kicks..

How about some sort of back spin heal kick for the air, or a flipping axe kick? That is if you are still stuck on your air kick.

I wasen't planning on a exe out hyper but we will see after I make the hypers/specials that are in my head.
Small.. really?  Fireman stands taller then three Megaman's and Protoman.   ;)

Thanks Mew, but know I know what I want to do for the final air kick thanks to Ex.  I have something similar (I think) to what you are saying for a ducking kick.

Yea I think your right, I just re-read it myself.  I'm keeping the head the way it is, I like it.   ;D Besides I am using more then just one head.
