Title: Polaris: Lorna Dane
Post by: daraku on January 15, 2014, 10:37:02 AM
Here a little preview of my work on Polaris, started by Xpachin. Xfields send me the char last year, and now i hope to finish her until this month. All basics and get hits are completed, but im revamp some basic movements like walking and jumping, to give her a much accurate look. I need help just to find some base, that could fit with some pose in the comics. Any ideas would be appreciate. Acey if u let me use ur template it will be better.

i NEED THIS POSES: SUGGEST ME SOME COOL BASE THAT I CAN USE...but different from STORM, PSY AND ROGUE!

Asura Blade/Buster's Rosemary could be a nice base...

I've seen this WIP have numerous owners in the past. xpachin, wucash, ejmann (jr6)... Good luck with this.

Try reaching out to ejmann if you can about sprites. He was fixing up xpachin's sprites of her. I saw the stance, walk and crouch and they looked good.

I've seen it numerous times too, but this is by far my favorite look!  I'm excited to follow your progress.

What you need is a pro spriter, but every pose I see in those pictures you posted can be done with Psy, Rogue or Storm alread.

Take it piece by piece, you need a leg bent like this or that? look for a leg bent like that, then, do the same with other body parts.

Then, you put them all together and clean up the shadeing

Edit:

However, it's a bit late to ask for bases that arent Psy/Rogue/Storm, whem most of your finished sprite are already those three. Switching now will lead to odd body changes from animations to animation.

If you want a new base.......start over from scratch.

Ah, well

Glad you like it anyway. If you wish, you can shrink the image down to 25%, and edit it into a winpose.

I'd also color separate the feet, legstrap, gloves and arms. This way you can still have the classic Jim Lee uniform and her modern look.

Good work, PM me if you need anymore help  :)

To clarify Wucash was just the guy that had the sprites and in theory should code her, but all sprites were create by Xpachin, with some help of Jr6. Now i've get all from her; but im improving and completing that version ^:)^

A crouch kick

I hope there are special intros planned for the obvious ones. You know, Magneto, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

Cast is still down.

Either way I've sent him a PM, he has logged since I sent that PM. He's ignoring this thread; that's never a good sign.

Sorry for the double post, but It's best I get this out. After over a month of silence, and multiple PM's ignored. Its clear Daraku has abandoned this WIP.

As the only person really committed to this project, and having worked on many of the base sprites, I'm rebooting this WIP, complete with the Pal I originally planned to use.

That said, without a coder to speak of, the SFF will be the main concern. "Omega Red's" Rogue edit Polaris will be the base.

The only other option I see is simply do a heavy edit/ Lighter & Faster version of Magneto, throw in a few new moves, intros, wins and such as I did with SF1_Joe.

Nice. Good luck with this. I'm a big X-Factor fan so I will definitely keep an eye on your projects.

Howdy all, as I'm yet to hear back from Daraku, I'm formally leaving his project. I can not support him, given the level of disrespect he's showing to this forum and those supportive of his projects.

I will continue to work on Polaris alone. It will likely be best to start from scratch, to avoid any needless complications. A new formula has been worked out and will be fallowed-

We've all lost a lot of time with this project. Like Forge and Wolfsbane, my primary focus will be the SFF. All progress will be posted in my WIP thread from here on.

My goal is to finish X-Factor, these two are all that remain.

:-?? What happend here?? I didn't check this post from a lot of time. The wip is not abandoned by me, just i was busy with RL. If you wanna work lonely is your choice, but in my opinion that's wrong decision, because the design isn't much different from X-pachin design. Just we can use insert the smart pal you've used if you agree.
