Title: Harley Quinn -Redux-

Thought I'd show something since I haven't in the longest while from any of my WIPs.

These are simple plug-ins as there's no coder for either yet.

I'll say something about Scarecrow (since he's in the screen shots) before moving on to the main subject. Scarecrow has most of the boring stuff done and some basics. After getting through all the boring stuff though, kinda felt unmotivated for the time being to keep working on him as my main WIP.

So, I moved on to working on Harley. Going backwards with her, making all the exciting stuff first and then pushing through on the boring stuff (get hits, mostly). She has the most going for her at the moment, I think. Am getting a lot done in a short amount of time but she is harder to sprite then I thought she would be.

Am taking things from a lot of different girls. The main base is Maki (CvS) but am taking things from Lilith, Cammy, Mai, and others.

As for Bane, he's currently on the back burner but I will be getting back to him eventually. While I'm on the subject, why is my Bane WIP topic locked.? Anyone.?

The amount of detail in your characters is astounding. Great to see some progress from your characters.

As far as your bane thread being locked, I would suggest messaging maybe Acey or Darktalbin.

We aren't really locking " bumps"  in this section, so it must have been one of the new mods. No big deal, it's an easy fix.

Back on topic.

Harley looks good, besides the white tassle things. They seem way too big.

Yea, I have plans for the sickle and probably more from Testament also. As for the size, I was a little afraid she'd be too small but I've compared her in game to other chars and she looks just fine. The most important thing to me was to have her be kinda size accurate to Unlimited's Joker and everything else comes second. I'll try getting a shot or two of her next to other chars to show the size.

Ah, I hadn't noticed. It's fixed now, so no biggy. Didn't even really matter much if it was open yet, was just curious as to why it was closed is all.

Harley looks good, besides the white tassle things. They seem way too big.
They probably look that way since you're more into TAS version of how she should look. In most comics she tends to have them a little pointier and coming down around mid chest. In TAS they tend to stay around her collar bone and barely come down to the top of her chest, along with them being rounded out.

I don't think they're as long as they may seem in the shots also, since she's mostly attacking, they're kinda sticking out or stretching at times.

When it comes to specials and hypers, about one special might be the same (that being her gun attack) but that's about it. The rest will be all new, some ideas were ones I never came through on for the original Harl.

Since the Unlimited team is a little more on the perfectionist side, are you planning to have it coded where she is reversed so the colors show up correctly on both sides of the screen?

Possibly, though I won't go into changing up the diamonds. Absolutely hateee doing that. Changing the colors isn't anything difficult at all though, so I think that might be done. Coder needs to be up to it as well though.

Swaping the colors (not the stars) can take less than 3 minutes for the whole set of sprites if you know how to do it right (as long as there isn't color bleed into the skin as well)

Yeah that part is a breeze. Creating duplicate animations is the time consuming part.

I have a trick for that two, the SFF file, the AIR files, those are the quick part the long part is adding the code to each statedef then troubleshooting the unexpected bugs.

Yea, that's why I said it might be done. Can't say for sure yet. Though, I might actually do the stars too (if it happens) now that I think about it. For the most part, all I'll have to do is remove the stars. From the opposite side can't really see any at all.

I'd show all the weapons in action but there's that little thing about me not being able to code that's keeping me from it. At least I'm showing off three of her weapons and a bit of an intro. Btw, Jason Todd is being worked on by pretty much all of the Unlimited with Sei/Int leading it. He is well on his way, believe you me.

Love how Harley is looking Batz. Oh and I've been meaning to ask you, looking at your new sig are you working on pockets of Harl, Bane and Scarcrow or did ya make those just for fun? either way I like them
Thanks. Those sprites in my sig are just for fun though. They're just pocket versions of all my real WIPs.

Thanks. Think I remember you mentioning Lilith back then but it's all a blur. XD As for Creeper, chances are I won't include him in there. I'm trying to stay away from including any other characters in this but I did have an idea for a win pose including him. So, there is a maybe on that.

Thanks. I did look at the stuff and pretty much everything for Rhino is set already. It's just up to the coder at this point, nothing else I can do.

Oh man, that mallet swing animation was helllllll to put together. Like four or five bases went into it, a lot of resizing, completely respriting, and even scratch work. Not to mention I'm not even done with it yet. Just missing some good blur FXs on the mallet itself and recover sprites from it.

Yea, missed the recoloring of the teeth/eyes, didn't notice 'til you mentioned it. >.< Made them that way as there's times where they blend far too easily into the face make-up.

But I see you have been working really hard on her, and you have done an excellent job with this Harley.

She's my favorite DC villain, and I know I'll love to play with this version.

oh yes my baby girl  =P~ I love the animation. Its nice, smooth, gotta dimension, and perspective. The the thing you want to work on her her physical dimensions. I'm so happy you redid sprites Harley to make her more accurate. You got her petite size and it make rage drool. But worth this animation you need to make sure that her body type remains the size. Doing the spin/ twist I can see the other base quit well. Her hip spread  this Beyonce thing lol. But yeah her hips are too wide. Address this and it will be excellent.  ::salute::

After a second look I think I replied to quickly. I do see some growth in her waist and booty lol but its nothing major. And again not because she's my favorite character but because of the A+++ work. That animation is beautiful. Its works like these with that beautiful flow that keeps me interested in mugen. Thank you sir.  =D>

I'd much rather completely re-shade sprites than shape them out. Think I'm doing a decent job of it so far but we'll have to see where the final product lands.

It's very passable as is but know it needs a good amount of work still. You'll probably recognize the kick from Arkham City and Asylum.. Or WWE..

I like that kick. I also think there should be a chance of the move being countered, since it's always countered whenever she does it in the Arkham games
Actually, would think it funny if Batman had a specific counter just for this kick. As is though, think it'd be way too over board to go and give everyone in the project a counter just for this move.

I know the existing Harley Quinn that's all over the Internet has great moves and sounds great but looks a little on the heavy side compared to the cartoons, like she's had a few too many cheeseburgers and donuts to be in shape for the kinds of acrobatic moves she does. If Harley's still being worked on, then whoever's doing it might think about addressing that
