Title: Anyone Still Play The Dreamcast?
Post by: StarXS on August 21, 2007, 05:07:08 PM
I think I'm gonna dust mine off and get back to Unreal Tournament, Soul Calibur & MVC1... I also found out games are still being developed for the Dreamcast! here's the link http://kotaku.com/gaming/you-cannot-kill-it/2008-brings-more-dreamcast-games-291108.php?

Anybody else still play this great console?

I've wanted one, but I've never as much as even touched one.

Still, I'd rather have a PS2. But if I had the chance, I'd totally get a DC as well.

Me too... except for the finiding MvC2 part. Mine is in a well known place along with my other amazing DC games.

But yeah, I play my DC everyday. I've been playing the original Soul Calibur, it's the best in the series. Especially since I got my main man Hwang in there. They downgraded him so much in the 3rd installment :'(

I let my brother borrow it for a couple days with one of my football games. When I got it back, my memory card was wiped... I had 5 more points left to finish Soul Calibur! But I'll just do it again, no big deal... I also have NES, SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive & Game Boy emudiscs... when my family comes over we all play Power Stone, Looney Tunes Racer & the classics... if only the Dreamcast had DVD instead of GDrom, it would have been more dominant than the PS2, since it predated it by more than 1 year

dude it's a dreamcast not the computer i can't take screenshots anyway

http://www.dreamadictos.com/foro/index.php?act=ST&f=9&t=1999

if you can read spanish or what ever the languages in it states that you can use linux mugen on dreamcast their is a way to do it with openmugen but you need a source code.

and the dvd r part i'm not sure what my friend uses he just burns them for me and theirs no custom stuff just a regular dreamcast

R2R was my favorite boxing game... but then again I never liked boxing games too much. There is going to be a 3rd installment of the R2R games devleoped by AKI (created the first two Def Jam games & WWF No Mercy). I hope Chris Tucker return as the voice of Afro Thunder *lol* "It's time to dance, it's time to dance... dance sucka!"

I'll have to check for these games... though I beat everything in Unreal Tournament (the first 3rd person shooter I ever played) I just couldn't get into Quake 3 no matter how hard I tried...

Did anyone ever play canon spike?

I'm gonna have to hunt that one down, never heard of it. Power Stone 2 is the only one of the series I've played, and me and my neice play it for hours, the envirnments are awesome (wonder if they can be converted to mugen?) and the transformations look pretty cool too, now she plays the psp version

Hell yeah, Cannon Spike was an awesome shooter, I loved the fact that you could play with Cammy, Megaman, Arthur..etc. That game is hardcore and I suggest anyone to seek it out and play it. As for the Dreamcast, I stood in line at launch till like 1:00am to get mine with Sonic Adventure and Mortal Kombat Gold. I love Sega and wish they were still making consoles, I miss the rivalry between Sega and Nintendo......*sniff sniff  :'(* those were the days.

Yeah, TRE is pretty fun to play. Especially since it gets harder based on how you play. It's as if the game hates you for doing so well. heh.

How do you burn dreamcast games?

get Discjuggler (http://www.padus.com/) by default it burns at 1x, and is better at burning DC games than Alcohol (which is better for PS2 games)
most Dc isos are self booting, so you just burn, put it in and start playing!

Hell yes! I went to EB games today with my friends and found Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Dreamcast for $60.00 Complete too, No lie!
Good thing I had some b-day money from last year! So nows I got MvC 2. (I had it before but it was burned and needed a boot-up disc.

yea still use my dreamcast. love playin mvc2, sonic adventures,  and dead or alive 2 on it. shame it died was one of the best consoles out there. it actually cared about games unlike now adays consoles that keep adding fancy crap like blu ray or hd-dvd players in em.

real talk. all the DC needed was a DVD drive upgrade, or even if a firmware patch was made then games could still be developed... technically, today is the last day of support for the DC [http://mugenbattle.blogspot.com/2007/09/dreamcast-mugen-part-1.html] so now I guess it's considered abandonware?

in any case, I just found my Japanese copy of Guilty Gear X, never played any in the series so I'm off to see how fun it is  :)

I still play Power Stones 1 & 2 to this day. 8-}

I also remember playing Resident Evil: Code Veronica, MvC2, and Sonic Adventure.

The only time I had a beef with this golden oldie was when I was playing Sonic Adventure, and every now and then the game would severely lag, particiularly when I was coming down the wooden steps in the Mystic Ruins. ~X(

Yes that pace had a big load time and was very laggy at times but it was the dream cast and Mystic ruins was a big place

I bought a 3rd Strike StreetFighter 3 then I got fricken pissed and scratched it by mistake. I saw a store next to where I got my new contacts and eyes dilated, that said it can repair CDs. I'll go there and see if they can fix it.
