Probably true, but it depends of the space each character takes.
It doesn't even look like SF4 so the amount of characters can be pretty big if you realize that the minimum capacity (HD DVD) takes 8GB that can be filled with characters, too bad it ain't Blu Ray because if that was the case the game could have OVER 9000 100 characters.

All I hope is that the sprites will be in a 2D style, or the characters have less than 300 colors.

Just looking at the roster again for MvC2 & started thinking who might not make it in #3 - I bet Shuma Gorath, Blackheart, Spiral won't make the cut & where probably lucky they got included in the first place

I can only see blackheart coming back it if ghost rider makes it in.

Even then blackheart is quite good at turtleling and spamming so who knows.

Looks good. Glad Chris got in over Leon (I'd doubt they'd have both with a 30 character roster, well they say at least 30.......). I'm thinking that the character choices are going to be mostly obvious, with characters that are popular at the moment so I'm thinking that a few characters from MvC2 will most likely not be in such as Marrow and Spiral.

And it looks like they aren't having mostly X-men and SF characters which is great! Although they have gone for the obvious Chun-Li and Ryu which I'm fine with as they represent the series. I'm hoping for an Invisible Woman, or any member of the Fantastic 4 as they deserve a spot after being shunned in previous games.

Gameplay wise I'd like either 4/6 attack buttons. TvC didn't feel right with only 3 attack buttons for me. And I'd be happy with either 1v1 or 2v2. 3v3 was too much for me. But if it is 2v2 I'd like a 1v1 mode!

I'm hoping for an Xmas release date. They did say late 2010, early 2011. Although I would like Capcom to not rush the game and have to cut loads out or not balance it.

I hate to correct you acey but MvC2 was on the NAOMI board, pretty much the same hardware as the dreamcast, hence why the dreamcast's version is near arcade perfect.

but I can believe cramming 56 fighters into a game within two years of said development could have staggering ramifications.

This will probably end up being one of the best fighting games of 2010 or 2011. I hope this game comes to PC, and I hope they have some epic costumes also.  I also hope that they will not only give us a great fighting game, but also a great single player game simliar to Marvel Nemesis but better.

And is there anyone in capcoms rosters that literally stands a chance against hulk or IronMan?

Nahhhhh. Maybe Dante based on some of the things he's done in DMC. Other than that. i can't think of anyone.

Anybody could take iron man but viable contenders for both include:
Akuma
Wesker
Pyron
Maybe Mech Zangeif

Capcom usually doesn't create god characters in their games, least not to the same measure as say The Beyonder from secret wars.

So many variations of megaman that it gets folks wondering, what megman is gonna show up? Will zero appear instead?

I think its easy to say when it comes to representing capcom as a whole, megaman, ryu, and chun-li will always be there as they are the most popular of capcom's two best selling franchises they are famous for.

I've been rooting for dante for as long as there have been MvC3 rumors.

I'm pretty sure every fan wants to see Dante vs Deadpool, they are equals in every way.
