Arc System Works Acquires The Rights To River City Ransom And Double Dragon

Arc System Works have acquired the property rights to Double Dragon, Super Dodge Ball, River City Ransom, and Kunio-kun franchises from Million Co., Ltd.

As of June 1st, 2015, all property rights of all titles previously owned by Technos Japan—and later by Million Co.—have been transferred to Arc System Works. Just what Arc System Works plan to do with these properties is unknown at this point in time.

Arc System Works have been publishing the Kunio-kun games in Japan, including Downtown Hot-Blooded March: Let’s Go to the Great Sports Meet for PlayStation 3 and Downtown Hot-Blooded Historic Play for Nintendo 3DS.

So what they are planning with those?

Well, I assume make new hi-res River City Ransom and Double Dragon games  If they do lets hope it's in the spirit of the originals, but these guys love 2D and make awesome games so things should turn out pretty good. They will probably do their own take on them though like Hardcorps Rising was done or give them the GGXrd treatment.

I absolutely loved (still love) River City Ransome! Maybe even more so than Double Dragon. I'm most hype about RCR tho.
