oh, thanks for the nice words :)

I worked on Red Hulk a bit, to make it sound less Hulk. He has new stand, new basic attacks and a friend of mine is editing some new moves for him.


That kick was going to be an normal attack, until I got the idea to make it a chain-move kick: once the kick connects, Red Hulk grabs the enemy and executes randomly either a Spike Piledriver or a Back Breaker (from a Torture Rack position).

Yes, I am a wrestling fan :)

I've been anticipating your next release...it seems there will be a jump in content compared to the first release.  Like this a lot  and hope to add more hours in the day for us all

Thanks. You can be sure of that - the game had doubled it size.
The first release had Captain America, Iron Man, Warmachine, Hawkeye, Hulk, Quick Silver, Beast, Emma Frost , Vision and Thor as playable characters (10).

The next release will have all of those (War Machine were redone, now with the cannon on his shoulder) + Wolverine, Brand, Black Cat, Namor, Tigra and Red Hulk (16) + helpers.

Btw, do you still want to make She Hulk?

More news:

The project progress is slow but steady. Currently, only me (programming, editing and all) and Jhfer (editing, palettes and ideas) are working on this project, with occasional assistance from friends in different areas. I would love to be able to launch the new demo in December this year and will do everything possible to make this feasible. However, I have a number of commitments that may not allow this to happen, but I will strive to get me to do that. I've played quite this game on mobile and noted (I walk with a book on the bus as I come and go to work) every bug or improvement that can be done and when spare time, I have worked to repair and improve the game.

This will be the team of playable characters in the next release. Unless someone to join us in the development, I do not intend to work on new playable characters to the next release, because I think we already have a number of options to choose from.

Yeah I don't have those anymore. ..a lot of cpu issues since then...but I will try to emulate your style...never tried this before. ..may need some additional edits after I'm done by your mate jhfer...if it is a little larger could you shrink it?

News:

- Emma Frost, while in Diamond Form, can now grab (and attack/throw) enemies

- Tigra and Black Cat (Quicksilver will be able to do this too, maybe Wolverine also) can recovery from fall and land on their feet.


- War Machine can now grab (and attack/throws) enemies, but Iron Man can't. It makes sense since Rhodes had military training. Also his Special 2, Seek and Destroy, now depends on hit to make him go to the uppercut.

- Red Hulk has a new jumpattack animation


- Gunners now can't shoot while they are outside the screen, upon request.

- Some enemies can take the recovery itens from the floor

- Brand now can enter in Gun mode as a extra move (cost mp) and not as he Avenger Power. I need to code her Avenger move yet.

- Started to code the aerial stage. Its the transition between the first stage (after the battle with Tiger Shark) and the Maggia ship.


The only bad news is that Brand's Gun mode is given me a bug vith a global variable and I am having no luck fixing it. Maybe I will request help from a more experienced coder.

I would like to post more stuff but I am still deadly busy at RL. But I hope to post more stuff soon.

SOME MORE NEWS

Optmization - I am trying to optmize the game as much as I can. I already compressed all the music and got a nice cut on the .pak size. Now I am converting all images to .GIF, since some chars were made in .gif, some in .pcx and some in .png. I know PNG COULD be better for this, but in my tests it was the opposite. A 4kb gif image turned into a 42kb png image (10x more). To avoid this, I was using a compression - until I discovered that this was inflating the load time.

To convert PNG into GIF is easy, since they used the same row order on the palettes. But to convert .PCX is kinda more complex, since the how order is reversed and we have smart pals - one mistake, and everything is ruinded.

Sky stage - Started to add some more enemies to the stage. Some of them will rise from the water to attack you. How cute :)


Working in some small things in all characters. For example, now Thor can call a thunder for this grabdown attack.

Ilu, did you add bubbles/gravity changes to the characters in the underwater stage? Or is that going inside an underwater dome?

Hey buddy. For the underwater stage, yeah, there will be changes in gravity and effects. And the characters will be using a diving dress on that stage.

Yes, there will be a transition stage where you go underwater. The intial idea was to let the player choose if he wants to reach the Maggia's ship by air (image above) or by underwater. This is when Namor takes action.

Some more progress:

- Thor and Vision are done for sky stage
- I've made a custom spaceship for some characters


- I've made a custom ship only for Brand


- A very classic NPC will help you on the stage (with the classic THANK YOU, WONDERMAN quote)

On some frames of Brand's "ship" outline is black, on others dark greenish grey(or greyish green 8=| ). It looks kinda similar to hover bikes from Battletoads/BT&DD will she have kick attack on it? You know, if you want you can use jet surfboards from turtles for some characters on water stage for variety and allow them to jump and use most of their moves so they won't suck against those shooting ships...

If we're building custom flyers for certain characters . What's General "Thunderbolt Red Hulk" Ross vehicle going to be? That's a big guy for a scooter. Or Hulk himself?

Its a gif issue, I am still working on that bike, because I am having issues with the palette. She won't have a kick attack, but she has two attacks - a gun (free) and a concussive blast (costs power).

I am very focused to be able to release the new demo in december. Whish me luck :)

- All enemies can now be attacked while they are lying on the ground. Not all characters will be able to him them though.


- Brand fly mode is finished. While I am not a spriter, I liked the result of the edits I did for her:


- Alongside the normal attack and special attack, she has a back attack so she can hit the enemies behind her. She is the only character which doesn't turns around and can attack enemies from behind.


- Sky level boss done - Hydra Ship

I was going to include another boss, but I will stick to this one for the next beta.

Now I will finish all the vehicles of the Sky Stage and move to the other stages.

Thanks man. I am working pretty hard on this on my spare time.

Finally I manage to make a cool sky for this stage. Each part is a different layer (7 layers) so it gave a nice depth effect
