  • Hi! I'm new!!
cant get the game to open
« on: October 23, 2014, 09:46:49 PM »
\-/o every time i try to open the game i get this mesage

mugen error
library (built in) message: can't change video mode
error message

i've tried changeing to several different combinations of resolution/bit depth/DX modes
cant get anything to work. i either get the message above or a similar one that lists my current settings

ex.
mugen error
library (built in) message: cant change video mode
error message: cant change video mode to 320x240x16

don't know what to do closest i've come to success is when i change to 1024x768x32 and even then all that happened was the mugen window launched and went to a full screen but was all black and never loaded no mater how long i waited also when this happens i have to ctrl+alt+del to close it and when i launch the task manager it says i have no programs running as if the game was never running????:-??

im running windows 8 64 bit laptop with intell HD graphics the monitor is 1366x768

has anyone else encountered this problem if so how did you fix it im tired of grasping at straws trying to figure out what settings to use can anybody recommend a resolution for a newer computer ive tried running it in compatibility mode for XP (service pack 2) and that diddnt work i guess i'll try 98 or 95 but im about to give up. i already have a MvC 3 mugen but it isnt that great and id like to give this one a try.

Did you download the game from our website here?

I'm running 64 bit OS too and I haven't had any such issues. Try this to start:

1) Open the data/mugen.cfg file (in notepad)
2) Find the line that says "FullScreen = 1"
3) Change it to say "FullScreen = 0"
4) Save and close then try to play the game again.

Let us know if that helps out.
