Title: How to take "sort of sprites" from 3D games or online games
Post by: SanjiSasuke on September 02, 2008, 08:40:30 PM
If you like easy this is not your thing.

3D games(mostly PC) and online games are not impossible to rip from. If you press Print screen (AKA Prt Scr next to F12) you can take from many things. For example from the Flash games on a professional site such as...I dunno.com. You use the same technique in 3d games. The hard part: Taking years to make the backgrounds go away. This is a matter of zooming in and deleting pixel by pixel. Or on photoshop lasso it. Tip: thry to rip on a single color so you can just paint bucket it white and take it out of the bg.

If you have a better way I'd like to see it! No seriously...HURRY UP!  :D

3D games: Rip sprites, animate, render in orthogonal view (preferably front or side view), reduce colors to 255, profit.

Online games: If it's Flash, use SWF Decompiler.

But a good character is always done from scratch.

Online games: If it's Flash, use SWF Decompiler.

That doesn't work with geometrically render objects.

You can probably obtain the movie clip and other library object data. But you probably can't obtain the actionscript, so you won't be able to recompile the swf.
