1940 stage
« on: January 04, 2014, 11:55:27 AM »
Got back to edit this one project of mine, which had been on limbo for about a year.

I have (for now) finished editing the main background:

(click to show/hide)

I wnat to add some more stuff, like the P-38 Lightning, but so far I only have this rip from 1944:

(click to show/hide)

That obviously is too big, not to mention it's cropped, which would require some edits.

Any suggestions are welcome.

That plane will require some heavy editing to fit the size but it's a great addition if it's done.

Looking really cool man.  :)

Plane size is fine, actually, haveing them fighting right in front of the blazes is awesome.

Add landing gear and finish the wings. It's all good to me.

Nice stage, I had no idea what to expect considering a 1940 stage, but this one looks really good so far.

One question: this a stage based on the 194X series right? x)

Brother, you read me my mind, bcuz the passed weeks i think on a idea of stage of this Capcom's classic shooter game for a idea of project on dA for Shonen Jump vs. Capcom (Actually not it's a real game just it's a fic idea from me he he xD)

But well it's good W.I.P. Good Luck! ;)

Aside from the wings, you've nailed it.

What are your plans for the BG? Parallax?

Parallax would look weird, since the original stage didn't had it. Aside from finishing the wings and adding shadows, i also wanted to add some crew watching the fight, but it'll be hard to find some WW2 navy pilots to fit.

Hum, there is a problem. The Vanish point of the plane doesn't matches with the vanish point of the stage.

that is some amazing work you're doing there...the landing gears look a little funny to me but its just my perspective of how im looking at them and I see this isn't an ordinary plane either...amazing detail... :Terry

Use that interactive mugen and make it into an Mortal Kombat/ Eternal Champions like stage by tossing the enemy into the propellers of the plane.  @-)  :D All jokes aside i really like the how this is coming along. Thanks for keeping us updated. I like seeing the process of brain storming and stage creation. Cheer MK

And so I got stuck with my ideas again. While the stage is pretty much complete and I could release it as is, I wanted to add some more stuff to it, namely some people in the background (just two or three). The thing is, I just can't think of good sprites resembling WWII pilots or navy soldiers. Any ideas are welcome.

Cheer up, Dragoon!
I've tried to make sprite out of this:
(click to show/hide)
Can't say it's great success, but with better spriter it's possible to populate your stage. :cool

Man, you should've mentioned that you needed pilot so there wasn't confusion and I hadn't made unneeded navy dude.
OK, I've tried:

Though don't ask _me_ to animate him, I'm totally worthless at that. (you know, I think Alien vs Predator privates with editing could fit in your stage...)
