Carwin got in some nasty blows round in the 1st round. Brocks smile going into round 2 told me he wasnt as rattled as it appeared. Once Lesnar got Carwin on the ground he was totally lost, Brock just had him owned. Carwins a boxer like a lot of this new generation of UFC guys. Fact remains if a grappler the calibur of Brock gets you on the ground a puncher is done almost every time. Not to mention Brock being an all american amatuer plus trained by Angle, Tazz, and Milenko on top of it. Dudes deadly on the floor as anybody.

6 months ago Brock thought his career was over. He had a lot of ring rust to work through, especially going in against a hardcore brawler.

 oh i'm not saying i don't like Brock.... if anything i wanted the guy to win... but that first round shocked the hell out of me...

we are talking about big bad brock... the guy that mangeled Frank Mir's face... and he goes into the first round... and no one here that is a brock fan can tell me that they didn't think brock was going to eat carwin for lunch, wasn't shocked at the A$$ beaten Carwin gave Brock in that first round.

win or lose... as a Brock fan my self... all it showed me is... brock is not the unstoppable guy he thought he was... and now he knows it as well.

I thought Carwin had him finished in the first round but he tired himself out, I didn't think Lesnar's submissions would be that good. I knew he was strong, made Carwin's head look like it was going to pop.

Fact is, no matter how big a Lesnar fan I am, he's lucky as hell the ref didn't stop it during the first round. Given he kept defending himself and wasn't out but it still looked really bad for him. He got out of that storm though and let Carwin tire himself out trying to finish it. After that it was easy pickings.

Even though Carwin was really tired, can't count out his wrestling background any. He could of still pulled out something but as it turns out, he gassed himself and that was that. Going into round two, that was just a world Carwin's never been in before.

Well what do you expect? Lesnar's a grappler, and when you face an offensive guy you've got to get the defence up, it's instinct.

Fact is though, Lesnar's a great wrestler, and those mat techniques are some of the best in the nation.
Unless you've trained in getting out of those moves, you won't.

i already knew that Carwin wasnt gonna be a walk in the park for lesnar... Da guy has always ended all his fights in round one hes an excellent boxer and his hands are bigger then lesnars... So when we seen dat uppercut dat he gave lesnar he just curled up he wasnt even fightin he just kept defending himself da whole first round... Im proud of carwin he did his thang but lesnar is da baddest man on da planet at dis point...

Brock got pounded in that 1st round no doubt. Like I said though that smile on Brocks face going into round 2 said it all. It was almost as if Brock was pulling a Rocky. Carwin winked but is gasping for breath while Brock looks ready to go.

As much as people are saying that Brock couldve lost that 1st round, I would add that had that spear connected at the beginning of the fight, and Brock got him on the mat I think it wouldve been over too. Carwin was totally owned on the mat. Tired or not, he didn't seem to have any ground defense.

Brock is the baddest man in the land in the UFC right now....
but it was still shocking.....

because Ive seen fights stopped for a lot less in the UFC... Brock was very very lucky... and i mean very lucky it wasn't stopped in the first round.

I am hoping that thats changing though. In the old days they didnt stop fights so easy, and on this past season of UF they let a guy get beat to the point where he had a long cut down to the skull. I couldnt even stomach looking at it. The guy just wouldn't call it quits, and wasnt blacking out.

If the fighter is willing to go, and the cut isn't dehibilitating to the point where you could bleed to death, or lose sight I don't think they shouldve stopped the fight. Personally I think most people probably wouldve been disfigured by just one of Carwins blows.

Yea, I saw a lot of them when Brock was going through the crowd after the fight. Was kinda blown away as I wasn't expect to see all of them there but that was awesome. Too bad they couldn't get a word with Dwayne though as he's the only one they showed in Brock's dressing room after the fight.

Fedor is still always out there and he would give Brock a run for his money. Given, it'll probably never happen (even more so now that he lost and Dana is less interested, I'm sure). Still though, hopefully someday sooner then later.

Fedor ur da only man who can stop brock fedor is a russian icon for a reason dat guy is amazing and always pulls the best wins he has the heart of a lion and is still dangerous when hes hurt or tired.... Did u guys see the fight with fedor vs brett rogers where brett broke his nose and he was breathing through his mouth and still happened to knock da guy out...
