Fighter Factory error help!
« on: September 10, 2008, 11:19:07 PM »
I tried getting rid of them, but they keep on coming back. I had started my character all over and it still have those 3 errors. It can't load the snd. file of my character, it won't load the ffchartest folder needed for loading my character into the testing arena, and it can't load p1. Can anyone help me on it, please?

1. Do you have an actual snd file in the folder its trying to load from?

2. You probably changed the location of winmugen sence the last time this worked correctly, you have to put mugen back into the location fighter facory can reconize it from.

3.  :-??

1. My snd. file is in the same folder as all of my other stuff (cmd., air., sff., etc) files that my character has and the folder is in the Chara file in the Fighter Factory file. Do I have to put it somewhere else?

2. I went to Options in FF and located the WinMugen program for the WinMugen executable box. When I click on the WinMugen test button, the arena shows for a split second and then the 3 errors started.  /:O

3. "Error loading p1" to be clear.

Make sure theres no typos in your def file.

Im guessing that might just be it then.

Also make sure the pallet order is grouped correctly

I had checked for typos recently. I double-check to make sure

The codings and stats in the cns and cmd file aren't made by scratch from me. It's by default from the Template (am I correct?) and I hadn't changed anything in them yet. O,o

I have only 1 palette and it's properly in place, colors and all.

Hmm maybe thats the problem..
Try using the eoh template on the main site or any other template, and make sure.
Does this happen with other characters?
It might just be the default template.

Update: I'm using the Elecbyte Player template for my character. I had Shadow the Hedgehog and MVC Cutman and they work perfectly in the WinMugen testing arena without any errors. When I tried out mine though, it's another story...errors with player1, snd, and ffchartest. (captain obvious, not being ruse or anyting. lol.)
It's that Shadow and Cutman are in different templates, yes?

Its that the template is incomplete with sprites and little things here and there. Shadow and Cutman work fine in mugen so they work fine in the test.
So its eather because of missing important sprites, or code, so your best bet is to take a template not made my fighter factory or an open source chracter and edit from that.

I also tried the SNK vs Capcom and that AI one, and it didn't help. You know any other Template that can help with my character? I'm making an 8-Bit sprite and here's his example.
SamuKattz (Cutman V)

I tried that, but FF only wants to open def. files instead of ace. and rar. files.  When I go to the 2 Template files, they're not shown after I ask FF to Open a Character. Is there anyway to open it like doing with opening a character?

o.O# You have to unzip the .ace and .rar files, the rest of the files will be inside...
If you dont have winrar you should go get it, try download.com
Allot of chracters and stuff are compressed into .rar formart, especaly all the stuff on my website because freewebs dosnt like .zip  for some reasion..

I finally got my way out of the 3 errors by using the Marvel character template, but now I have another problem. The test arena works, but when I changed the Marvel icon with my own and the standing pose of the stick figure with my character's standing pose, it won't show in the test arena.
I had done the palette for my character correctly though, Any help on that, please?

Update: I had tried putting the colors for my character on the top and bottom with the BG color on the lower right. Second, I put the colors only on top for the palette. Both still won't work. :(

1 of 2 things...

1. You may have not actualy changed the picture, only instead added a new sprite that should be next to the old icon...

2. You didnt convert the image to the palette properly.
Check this video out.

Edit: Put the video in wrong at first, video now works.

Just thought of something.
Make sure the image is aligned correctly, it should appear under and to the right of the plus sign and right on it like this
