I need help!

Ok I've been fustraded with making a character. can someone help. I'm not sure if this is right but if it isn't can someone tell me want to do from start to finish. I got the sprites sheet I want to use. I right click the picture of the sprites sheet, then iclick edit. It then takes me to paint. there is a box on the left side of the screen with pencil, paint brush, air brush and etc... at the top right of that little box there is a square icon I click on it. then I put a box around each sprite. I right click it and click copy to... it takes me to copy to there at the bottom of the screen it says    file name                  save under it there is save type as 256 Color Bitmap(*,bmp;*.dib) I click save. I go and do the samething there is the picture of the sprite I copyed, to copy to. Is that right? send me a message on telling me how to make a character from start to finish or just reply.  I really need help! Please!

go look up mugenlord on youtube i think he's got a vid tutorial on creating a mugen char.

I watched his video. it's just that he has the files in when he goes to add sprites which i don't have. I need help on saving them to the pcx file. after i click save to pcx. I go back and there's nothing. why
