My choice of poison is a Trackball and photoshop. I some times incorporate a Huion drawing screen into the mix  too

PaintShop & Photoshop.
ClipStudio & sometimes animation shop for quick animation drafts because it's light.
Ae for FX.

I got Aseprite, but still haven't checked this one.
