Hopefully they will make it available for the 360 later. It actually looks pretty cool. It has the bombastic, in your face kind of feel that the original had.

I've been watching E3 live on IGN today and when this trailer came up I was really surprised. It was cool, the second that announcer's voice spoke, I almost immediately knew it was KI. This trailer is perfect IMO. It has that 90's flare you would expect from a KI game.

The character models do look a little cartoony, but that's part of the Killer Instinct brand. The original 2 games the characters looked like they were claymation, a very common look for RARE's games.
I'm sure the graphics will look better at it's release. The fact that they only showed 3 character shows us the game is still in development.
I wonder what the roster will be? Will they take all the previous characters or introduce a bunch of new ones? What would you guys prefer?

true that. i think tho 360 NEEDS more exclusives and if this was to come on 360...would raise the bar a bit for themselves in having exclusive titles. They need to make that hapen...get more money with the system they have now instead of waiting around to see who would buy the new one and purchase the game cause... everyone these days do not have that much money to just toss out on as new system this pricey when can still port over and do well on 360 with its already user base.

There's Metal Gear Solid 5, Assassin's Creed 4, Halo (5? I think) and numerous more games. So there will be plenty of games coming out. I feel they partially redeemed themselves.

Other then that I wasnt to inmpressed by what Micrsoft had. Yeah they have some cool games coming there. My son really liked Project Spark (he's an Little Big Planet Buff). But there are a lot of FPS's coming again.
I'm a Sony fan by but own both PS3 and 360, I almost always play my PS3 though.

To completely date myself, I was 14 in 1994. My friends and I were grinding Super Street Fighter II (The third update to the console), MKII and Art of Fighting. There were other games out like TMNT Tournament Fighters, Clay Fighter, Killer Instinct, and these "other" games had nothing on the first three. I think Killer Instinct was the worst of them all. At least Clay Fighter was a parody.
When I say worst I don't mean the game sucked, I just mean that the graphics were the least good (the SNES port looked horrible), the game play was the least good and it just seemed like a copycat game that had many mechanical issues. One reviewer appropriately called it the "bastard child of SF and MK". KI fell by the wayside in my game pile.
Now the new version just announced, it doesn't look good to me either. I'm disappointed in the graphics already. If you compare a close up shot of KI to a close up shot of SFIV (2008) you see that the developers of KI are not concerned about details. Or maybe it's just stylistic or maybe it's just an unfinished product, but for me, the entire presentation looks dark and messy. Especially when compared to the bright fighters of Capcom. Also considering that this will be a 2d fighter with 3d models we can already guess that the netcode will be seriously lacking. The games that get the closest to a good net code appears to be the 2d fighters with 2d sprites so when I see a new development group making a 2d/3d fighter, I absolutely have nothing but the lowest expectations for the online gameplay. I tend to buy most fighting games, and if this one was on any other system then Xbox One then I would seriously consider picking it up but right now it's as low on my priority list as just about any game could get.

To be honest I'm not quiet sure but from what I read is the the game itself is free for download and Jago is the only character that comes with that free download and then the rest of the cast you will have to pay for. This seems like a good idea to me depending on a couple of factors
1. Cost of characters is low.
2. You get to pick and choose what characters you want individually and in character packs(like how Forza does with it's DLC)
3. We get all features and stages from the start on the free download.
If those 3 things are met then that would be a great selling point for this game because lets say a character pack has atleast 5 characters in it and is 5 bucks, if you only spend 10 dollars on the game and still get the full features that's not bad.

But you know what? i see this as a big @ss sloppy screw up and they just may make a version for 360 later. 360 and ps3 isnt going to expire that quick so i think it would be a smart idea if they make this game for 360. It will never see sony unless a 3rd party buys the rights to killer instinct. microsoft totally took over so hell no PS3 or PS4 will never get it unless something changes

I hope to see Orchid, Tusk and Spinal return. Maybe T.J. Combo and Kim Wu if they get a good modern update. The rest of the characters are kind of forgettable. I'm not sure if we'll see Fulgore or not. He's a VERY 90's-esque character. He would also need a modern update.
Don't really mind if they don't have fatalities. That's MK's thing. Rather see them focus on Ultra Combos instead.
Looks like they've really made gameplay much better than the original. The original was more about the cool visuals, not the gameplay. Original was really clunky and hard to get a hold on. Really looking forward to this game, even if it isn't coming to 360. :P

I think Glacius looks cool. It will take some time to think of him as Glacius though, seeing how different he looks. I'm a bit disappointed by the new character reveal. I think their choice of character is ambitious, however I was just hoping to actually see his design. IMO, Chief Thunder is one of the least crowd favorites from KI, so I'm interested to see how they will change him to be more likeable and not such a ridiculous stereotype.
The teaser actually makes me wonder if they have the character's model finished yet or not. Makes me wonder just how much do they have done at this point and how much will they have finished by November?
My gut kind of tells me there's more done than there appears to be, then again, I suspect maybe there isn't? Either way, I'm sure they'll get it all done in time. Looking forward to seeing more revealed! :)

I'm still a little confused, but I won't be buying any next-gen systems yet, till there's a significant price drop. Thus, I can keep an eye on how KI turns out before considering trying it out myself.
KI is a digital title, which Microsoft appears to have rushed the development process in order to make it a launch title, I see why the roster is so small. I don't think the price is bad either, especially being a next-gen game and offering more content to come. I have said before I like small rosters, though 6 or 8 does sound small. Personally, I always considered 12 the ideal number for a playable roster. Seems just the right amount for me.
I think the most positive thing here is, even though KI seems to be getting a rough start, we're being promised more characters and potentially this could also mean multiple story lines/modes. I am a little annoyed at Microsoft for using this IP as their guinea pig for new ways of offering digital titles and pricing models. KI deserves a little better than that, man. Though it seems Double Helix is working their butts off to give the best KI gameplay they can. That's encouraging.

I won't have a next-gen console any time soon, but I am very interested in seeing how the game will grow and expand into a larger game. The main problem with the lack of content was Microsoft gave Double Helix a very small window of time to build the game. There's obviously much more they plan to add, such as more characters and story mode. I don't know when or how, but I'd like to try the game out sometime.

Since Microsoft is killing poor ol' Rare... i'm thinking bringing back my favourite game was a bad idea, since the Killer Instinct was my favourite game until DarkStalkers came out, and then finally i stuck with Street Fighter, Soul Calibur and Smash Bros as my favourite great fighting games.
...and when i saw Double Helix ruining my Killer Instinct, now it became my most hated. What happened, good times?!

Game makes want to practice more. I be playing hard but those ultras just be coming out on the fly when I use Jago haha. Game gets my adrenaline pumpin....

I only liked KI1. I didn't like the play mechanic change for the second one. I've never played the new one so I can't say to much since I'm not sure how it works. I never looked up the game mechanics since no one that I know has it.

I just wish there were stage fatalities like the first one....you can get knocked off cliffs to your death. off buildings etc. im surprised they didn't add that feature in there. the stages are great looking. I wish I was a developer on that team. I would have suggested that. The stages and music also is too orgasmic to not have that kind of feature on the stages....
anyway its fun to me. I like it a lot. That mummy dude Im starting to like also

Season 2 they've started added stage fatalities. It was on their to do list. We have to consider they were given a very short amount of time to develop the majority of season 1 before the Xbox One launch date.
oh wow. haha I missed that kite on the stage finishers....yeah I was aware it was gonna take some time getting things together but the only things I kept seeing were those ultras. funny how I missed the stage fatals....

Everytime I see KI, it makes me wish Capcom would do that for Darkstalkers..... :'(
Let it go man....just let it go :P As big of a Darkstalkers fan I am...I already accepted the fact that series is not coming back. I do feel it's Capcom's truly best work outside of Street Fighter...but it never sold well and hardly anyone ever actually played it. Oh well
Anyway, this reminds me that I need to play some KI2....sure would love a Mugen KI project.

Having the classic outfits doesn't change the fact they went overboard in giving the characters such drastic facelifts in terms of design. Though to be fair that was inevitable in this day and age as these characters are old and the old designs wouldn't have worked out well. But they could have stayed at least closer to their KI 1 and 2 versions. It's more that certain ones are just way off. Saberwulf in particular looks horrible....I want his bulkier KI2 version with cybernetic arms.

I agree with you, DG. KI2 Sabrewulf is his best look.
I wish they would've kept Glacius KI2 look as well.

Yeah, Glacius too didn't need such a facelift. I mean, I can understand small changes to modernize them a bit, but nothing too drastic so that we still recognize them. I know there are people who hate the old designs and think they are ugly and goofy and won't work in this day and age, but their old designs is what adds to their charm.
This series was brought back to feed off the nostalgia of the old fans who have been waiting for it's return so why not keep the look we have come to know with just minor changes. The only thing drastic I expected was full 3D graphics, but the design end of things is where you don't to mess with too much. I have to admit when this got originally announced I thought it was a different fighter with the KI name slapped on to it.....I didn't recognize it as KI.
Then again I live in the past too much :P

I cant pick Tusk yet but I can play against him though for now (CPU)
Random fight I had verses a homie from Canada who was on his PC playing. I'm using Thunder.
I gotta play the game and practice more. I keep doing that damn cancel combo by mistake which jacks me up smh lol
the stage looks crazy when you stage doing Ultras^^ I think ill start using TJ combo more too
