Now that the site came back after breaking again while I was posting, I can redo this post... Anyway, considering how long Infinity has been around, this was to be expected. I think we should be prepared for more down time in the future since those tables are just going to get bigger. I'm sure there is a limit to how large they can get too. Might have to do some serious database cleanup or something. At least it wasn't a hacking or another rebirth....god knows I've been around for that before.
Fortunately it wasn't that we crashed the server, it was just that the forum is not the only database on the server so it had to be shut down until we had a chance to tighten it up a bit. Thing is, we have a very clean database, everything is optimized and indexed, we're just getting bigger every day.

I understand what you are saying, the size is an issue though. It will continue to grow and cause these sorts of things, hopefully you won't reach a limit....you guys are suppose to be Infinite :P
