Same thing as always, if you sound doesn't work well for you then please change your mugen plugins. This game has been tested and it should run fine on Winodws XP, Vista and Windows 7.

The best suggestion in such a case is to take the plugin settings of your current mugen game (found in your data/mugen.cfg file) and copy it into this game's config file. Make sure to copy over what ever plugins you might need as well. That should give you the best result.

The Bug Thread didn't load for me.. it gave me an error page.

Nightcrawler doesn't work.   You get as far as the vs screen and he crashes the game.. and error message about his .cmd file comes up.

Wow, That was awesome, Thanks Guys!

Quick feedback:

Music really grew on me, best retro mixes I've ever heard!

Intro was great, maybe some split images for better color separation.

Credits were superb, one of the few times I Wanted to watch them.

Training stage - change to Danger Room session or something just an idea.

Game play is very fluid.

Select Screen - How the hell did you do that? Very sweet.

An idea to change fight round sound to Professor X. Couldn't be too hard to find something appropriate. Been a while since X-Men TAS but there's bound to be something where he says "Fight if you must" you know telepathically. i have every ep i can try yo find something fitting if you like.

I didnt see akuma in there tho.  >o:-( \-/o :-?? [-O<

Seriously Great Work! You should all be proud. This game will out live all of us. -T.G.

Hi!  I downloaded the game and played it.  This game is AMAZING!!!  :o :o :o
I can't believe the quality of this game; this is perfect (Intro, Select Screen, portrait, characters, stages, music, hyper portrait, bonus stages, and end credit).  I love this!

I played with several characters in training mode, and I played arcade mode with Cable. I'm glad the final boss wasn't as hard as Symbiote Onslaught.  In fact, I had harder time at beating Sabretooth than beating the final boss (I love the boss; he is so original, and I've never seen this kind of boss in any other fighting games, and I was impressed by his transformation and the music of this boss).  I'm going to buy a new controller today (Wow, it's already Sunday midnight lol), so I'll enjoy more  ;D

I got screenshot!;D

I'm so happy that this game is available to play now!  I'm gonna tell my friends to download the game and play!!!  I recommend anyone who loves comics and video games!!!
Thank you for creating this game!  I'd like to keep this game in my life!  :cool

 >:-(-|
Now I want to read X-Men comics, and this game is based on X-men Second Coming, right? (or is this based on other series?)  I apologize for asking this because I've only read 1st Uncanny X-men series and some issues of random X-men comics...  :-[

This was a great game to play through. From the music, to the stages, to the characters. All of it fantastic. There are some things I didn't agree with within characters but all in all.

Wolverine was especially awesome to take on. His AI makes him a monster and he fights exactly how you'd expect Wolverine to fight. Seriously, Capcom's version has absolutely nothing on this one. I find it hard to believe that any other Wolvie to come will even come close. Deadpool was great to fight too because he is f*cking annoying, which represents him so well. Really loved the Prime Sentinels and the final round with Bastion. Fantastic stuff.

Quick question though, why did it say "Not the end." at well.. The end.?

Well, congratulations all for the great game and great editions, so mutch original characters.

I loved new Wolverine, (now is the real wolverine), Quick Silver (well done great Char), Mystic (Oniginal), New Cable, new Gambit and Rogue, and new Cycrops, Storm and Bishop (All with new look and costumes).

some bug I'll report you guys.

Quick question though, why did it say "Not the end." at well.. The end.?
Is the way story end at comics.
... and project X have plans for more x-men games with different eras and storys.

Training stage - change to Danger Room session or something just an idea.

Actually the training stage changes locaiton based on the char you pick. Try Cyclops and you'll get the Danger Room.

Now I want to read X-Men comics, and this game is based on X-men Second Coming, right? (or is this based on other series?)  I apologize for asking this because I've only read 1st Uncanny X-men series and some issues of random X-men comics...  :-[

Yes, this is based on the Second Coming story line. X-Men comics have been really good the last 2 years and Second Coming happened this year so it's a very recent arc. I strongly suggest it.

Congratulations to the Project X team for their Full game release of, Second Coming! Additional mentioning should go to:
- XFields for the fortitude to keep going when people thought Project X was dead
- ZVitor for providing the spark that resurrected Project X. Also for all the individual character work and involvement in game coding
- Acey for all the additional individual character work, screenpack, and the lead with game coding

Ok i'm not the right person to give a 'professional' feedback and i'm not a great bug finder so i'll say what i think about the game in general...

I liked the intro and the game music is good although i think some stages deserve a rage music kind :p

I was surprised by the cast, never thought it will be so many characters  :).... and the good old Strong Guy is there too

The gameplay is good, i liked the hypers of some chars, magneto, mystique, quicksilver,.. man... there are many

The sentinels idea is well put in the game...make us think that the game is not only 1 on 1 fight

In general the game is way good, too bad I can't play with bastion at least in training mode...or can I?

Just 1 more thing...

Some years ago Hecbator was making Mr. Sinister, probably he would be part of one Projetc X games...what happened to him? never heard of him or Mr. Sinister anymore...
Hey zvitor, when u decide to go back to work with FF again... you'd be the right person to take a shot on Mr. Sinister,
think about it :p

Abraço

Wow. Seriously, even though Cyclops has various bugs and problems, and even though there's a number of bugs I've no doubt yet to find, just...WOW. Seriously, this is so much better then EoH it's not funny. :| Everything's unified, the characters feel fluid and are fairly balanced out,(and have more character too,) the music's great, there's so many little touches; it's one of the few Fullgames that shows just what level of quality can be seen in these sorts of things. Great job Acey and Zivitor, and once all the bugs are found and fixed, it'll be even better.

PS.No music in Helicopter stage?

we released this way because community test is fast and massive, all bugs will be fixed to 1.0.... but we dont have plan for one date.... we need a break, a long break.

I agree, we can only go up. You know, companies like Capcom and Nintendo have outside companies that specialize in testing and they have tons of testers who work on a game for weeks on and off. If we had that kind of resources we could expect to be fairly bug free, instead we depend on all of you, our mugen friends and mugen family. So really Project X isn't simply limited to those behind the scenes who made the game but also all those in the mugen community who play and give feedback.

but, i have question, after 1.0, will be another maybe a 1.x ? i ask this because in PX site, in wips section, there are some chas that are not in this release, like Liquid camaleon Beast and Havok (my most expected ones:C) or banshee, pyro, etc, so i wpuld like to know, if they will be some day released?, or are definitely aborted?, greetings the game is incredible

Do you have the drivers Installed, If so, which one are you using?

Xbox Drivers read the directional (up, down, left, right) movement on the analog stick, not the D-pad. The D-pad is counted as P.O.V., the triggers are X-dimension, and the right stick is Y-dimension. I wish there was a way to change the directional to the dpad but so far, no dice.

but, i have question, after 1.0, will be another maybe a 1.x ? i ask this because in PX site, in wips section, there are some chas that are not in this release, like Liquid camaleon Beast and Havok (my most expected ones:C) or banshee, pyro, etc, so i wpuld like to know, if they will be some day released?, or are definitely aborted?, greetings the game is incredible

Well, Project X is the team, Second Coming is the game. The first of many planned for later development. So it's safe to say if they're not in this game, they'll be in the next one.

question for acey,
i know i might be jumping the gun, but on the project x site, there is the beast download, just wondering if that is the same as the one in the game, if not, will the one i played in the game, be available in its stead?

p.s i love the secret avenger beast, especially the ode to x-factor pallete (so rock)

That's why it's best to use the XBOX 360 SF4 fightpad or fightsticks!

Acey, thank you for the information and creating the game!
I'm going to buy the comics!   :)

Just beware that it's the final part of a trilogy of stories; Messiah Complex, Messiah War, (or is the other way around,) and Second Coming. I haven't read any of it, but I'd imagine if you want to get the entire picture, you might want to read all three.

I gotta say... Mystique is incredible. Capcom could not have done better IMO.   Beautiful sprite work.  Excellent arsenal of moves.   Very fluid animations.    What's more, she's very much in line with her character.   No wonder you wanted to save her for last Zvitor.  She's a master piece.   Rogue and Gambit are very fun to play with as well.   Mystique takes the MVP spot though.   Instant Favorite.   Next to Nightcrawler of course lol.

Fantastic work all around guys.  Well done.

@Tazzer, i still have more plans for mystique, some sprite work at intro/winposes and make special intro and taunts. and maybe one more special kick.

Congratulations for this amazing release!

Mystique is my favorite character from the entire game, Wolverine is just perfect, and Iceman is a lot of fun to play as him.
I was positively surprised by Birdie and Namor they are both terrific.
Rogue's power stealing abilities were very well implemented, I've enjoy playing as her.

Thanks to all PX team member for all your hard work.

yeah after some more playing the game ( cause i aint been to much fond of marvel remakes all over the place ) this one is pretty cool. especially after playng it some more. My fav is juggernaut. I LOVE what yall did with him and his hypers are actually better than the original capcom version of him. thats what i look for from Mugen. thinkin outside the box with em and makin characters better than the originals.  you made him feel mre likethe actual Juggernaut. So he actually is the true juggernaut he should have been all along. now he is def the best term of a remake. mystique and birdy are pretty much the same to me. So out of the juggernaut made i dub this Juggernaut WORTHY!  ^:)^ =D> thanx for hookin up one of my favs.

When this great screenpack (+ characters/stages) will be released, will it be possible to add characters to the current roster?

Also, are there plans to update some of the current characters besides Mystique? I remember that ZVitor posted a plan for a smart palette for Wolverine by Sei.

The only character which I'm really missing in this awesome roster is Apoc's Archangel, I'm really hoping he will return and finish him sometime.. [-O<

Hey, not sure if this is the right place for this, but you guys rock. Like, a lot. I haven't even gotten halfway through the roster here yet, but it's absolutely fantastic. Beast is a great improvement, I actually like the character quite a bit now. Birdy was a really pleasant surprise. Very nice Bishop sprite overhaul, wucash's Bishop is one of my favorite characters (I didn't notice any gameplay changes, not meaning to say they were bad if you guys did in fact make some). This is also my first time using Z's Colossus, which just, wow, completely made my day, especially discovering that it was available for normal download. I didn't notice any difference from the public versions of Cyclops or Deadpool, and very little changes on Emma, though I liked what little I did see. Again, very nice sprite overhaul + extra move on DCL's Gambit, also a character I love and the public version is currently on my roster. And I just tried Iceman before going to bed...

WOW.

I don't even know how to compliment you highly enough without dissolving into great gouts of profanity, which I understand is frowned on here.

You've done things with that character that I didn't even think could be DONE in MUGEN, and raised the bar majorly. If the other new characters in this project are at the same level, just damn.

Great, great freaking job. With no offense intended, I was not expecting something of this caliber of pure awesomeness to come out of IMT. I'm completely blown away. And now I'm going to sleep before I spew anymore incoherent praise. :)

I enjoyed playing the game very much.

My critique is minor.

Quicksilver still needs some sprite work. I can still see Eraddicators flash belt outline in most of the sprites.

I would replace Bishop down the road using a character base better suited for him. I think Colossus for Bishop is one of the all time worst base choices ever made in Mugen. I played arcade as Colossus, and it looked pretty ridiculous seeing the 2 in game play when I got to Bishop. However It was nicely edited from the previous version of Bishop thats out there.

Namor seems out of place in the game to me, but I know thats Marvel's writing, and not the game concept.

Overall my gripes are pretty minor. All the other bugs I noticed have already been mentioned.

It's a little over 300MB.

many thanks for the reply Tazzer that helps a lot much appreciated  :) but Over 300mb :o ??? er I dont know if I will be able to download it as my computer completely jams after every 2 and half hours for some unknown reason and it takes about an hour just to download a 100mb so I dont think I will be able to download this in one go sadly :(

so I was wondering could someone please send it to my email please
mikejulialee@aol.com

or upload it onto some other site in 2 halfs please which should roughly be about 150mb for each half

whichever is easiest :-??

many thanks in advance anyway :)

and sorry about the late reply by the way Tazzer I would have answered a lot sooner but I have to share my computer with 2 other people you see so sorry about that

I thought about that too, the classic unfinished mugen games were MvC3, Project X, Project Webhead and Project Fantastic Four. With EoH and Second Coming released, as well as Wucash working on the Spider-man project the only one remaining one is Fantastic Four. I'm not jumping on that boat any time soon though.

NEXT STEPS TO 1.0 - no plans for one date.

- fix bugs
- set better the combo scheme to char types.
- add arcade intro
- add endings to each char
- new rogue costume
- maybe replace some of rogue copy cat hypers
- finish some unfinished sprites, like mystique roll and wolverine walk back

New chars?
probably not, game is (almost) done, we just want to ballance it now.

Because those two had their old costumes in the second coming comic book. Havok had his costume change when the comic came out, & Angel was already Archangel before the second coming even exist.

dont need to be newest havok costume, but z666 one is so 80, will look weird at our roster.
birdy dont have modern costume, and modern sabretooth dont have a costume, just tranchcoat, so the classic one works.

ange/archangel is a important char at SC story, a least somes of his moves he must have metal wings.

Not just 80; he first got that one as his first costume, all the way back in...either '69 or '70. (Before Wolvie' even!) I know because I went back and read the Roy/Neal run some time ago.  So yeah, it's pretty old... :|

Congratulations for the release to all project X team
Awesome game,  probable the best out until now. You guys really improve a lot since you started.
The characters are fun to play (what is the most important), nice screenpack and music. I think some stages need a litle more work like Canada and future, but maybe it's just my thought
Can’t wait to see what more project X is planning for the future and good luck with SC 1.0
I saw a WIP of apocalypse some time ago by Tenchimuyo4ever, I don’t know if he still working on him, but it has a nice sprites and fits well on the arc of history (he’s is an important character on messias war of the SC trilogy). Maybe he can donate for the project.

great, great, I think unique, creative project x is the best release of a game with reference to the mutant x-men, I think there is much to Agragar jenial only.
I think I miss it over sized archangel as above,
perhaps the possibility of X-23 was indispensable bastion against the forces but what else is great good roster.
 and waiting for the update.
 in good time.

estupendo, magnifico ,creo inigualable, creadores project x es el mejor lanzamiento de un juego con referencia a los mutantes x-men , creo que no hay mucho por agragar solo es jenial.

No, my problem is that I'm still working on Rogue and I can't give time to releases if I want to get Rogue done in any bit of reasonable time.

time, for releases? i thought it would have been as simple as a upload onto the project x site
(or do you mean constant replying to the community about their trival crap about what they want out of the character and how it should be the way they want it, so you have to go and alter and edit till they are happy????)
i say screw that, release and let the public figure out what they want and fix it themselves, your not their personal editor, your a creator!
create and let life work itself out, there is better things to do like xmas holidays with friends and family

For a release you have to take a character out of the full game, switch out their portraits and make sure they function in a normal mugen setting. Then you need to fix any bugs that arise due to the change of scenery, then you have to upload, screen shots, monitor, etc...

release is not so simple......
chars like rogue, storm and bishop, i changed a lot of creators personal taste to fit xsc gameplay,
also some stuffs was removed to fit project (DCL gambit lvl3 hyper, rogue fly mode, nightcrawler "helpers" intros) and some hitsounds will miss at somes SP. even pallets, some creators preffer a less vivid colors scheme.

I've spent quite some time with the game and I have to say, it's awesome.  Easily one of the most high quality full MUGEN releases I've ever tried.  Nice, large, varied cast, decent balance, cool moves, consistent art, everything needed to make it actually feel like a sequel to COTA.  I love how completely unique the boss battles are, too.  My only gripe is that Bastion seems a bit TOO cheap once he goes into his hyper mode, but maybe I just need to figure out the trick to damaging him...

...the trick to damaging him...

Take out the time portal (red glowy thingy). That will temporarily stop both the onslaught of Nimrod sentinels from flooding and his regeneration. Use that time you have before the portal reopens to take him down.

Beaten it so far with:

Storm - Psylocke - Iceman - Wolverine - Nightcrawler - Rogue - Gambit - Wolverine - Cyclops - Cable - Deadpool

make the cytorax hyper and HP will make 3x damage, he cant defend at second form.
2 hits is enough to beat him.

One really, really slight disapointment is in Rogue.  Don't get me wrong, her moves are awesome, and I love how her power steal is a combination of XvSF and MvC2.  I'm just slightly bummed that she's, like, the only (still living in canon) player character that hasn't been updated to match the modern look.

I do understand how much effort that would require and am not gonna complain about it any more beyond this one post, but after such amazing edits as Cyclops, Storm, and Gambit, it's slightly jarring, y'know?

Anyhoo, I finally beat Bastion.  It was with Emma Frost.  Now that I know what to do to him, it's really fun.  I'm kinda glad he transforms in round two without going huge.  That kinda boss has been done to death, particularly in MUGEN.

Well, that's not entirely true.   Although Storm did get a great stance update... she's definitely not in her modern costume.  This is her current costume (at least, that last time I checked it was):

Rogue looks absolutely fantastic!

I really wanted to see old styled Cyclops and Beast by Liquid Chameleon, my main connection (and maybe the only one) with the X-Men world is the animated show from 90's, so somehow I would like to see a more classic theme the next time.  [-O<

The modern costume for Storm looks pretty neat, Acey's working on Rogue so Ororo will be the only X-Men lacking a new costume.  :(

Beast a smart palette which includes the 90s look:

IMO a smart palette will done the job for Storm, the crown can be done the same as Beast's glasses and the suit itself will be fairly easy considering the awesome smart palettes I've seen in this project so far.

not simple to apply a smart pallet to storm capcom costume, best way should re-sprite storm, some volunteer? no? then lets keep this way.

What storm would really need for a smart palette to work is to redraw her upper arms on all the sprites, I just did that for Rogue so I'm not willing to do it again any time soon.  :-??

G Lux, you just made my day.  Quick question, will the moveset be more or less the same, just balanced out and such?

Well, that's not entirely true.   Although Storm did get a great stance update... she's definitely not in her modern costume.
So Rogue isn't so alone after all.  :P

Now that you mention it, you're right, but making the player one color black helped hide that...

Next question...will Hope actually do anything for Cable in the next update?

One final final question...is the updated release going to have any other characters added, or just refinements to to the ones already there?  With 23 player characters, I'm pretty well satisfied, but I'm just kinda surprised some of the New X-Men (specifically X-23) aren't here.  (And being spectators in the Mansion stage don't count.)

Wasn't suggesting that Storm's look be changed (I happen to like the costume that she's in.)   I was only saying that Rogue wasn't the only one who didn't get a costume upgrade for the release that's all.

I'm trying to find two tracks of interest but I can't find them on his channel. One is the awesome 90's theme remix when you fight Bastion in his final mode and the other is the song that plays during the ending (It's not the credits theme cause they sound very differnet)

The Bastion song is the actual 1990s cartoon theme song. Download for $0.99 at Amazon.com.

We will release the full soundtrack eventually just like we did with EoH. It's just too good not to have.

He's right. I've slowly have been making the conversion over to 1.0 and aside from Ice Man and Metal Man, the rest of my roster made it just fine. There were a few character .def issues where the versiondate and mugendate used (.) instead of (,) [ex, 04.14.2006 instead of 04,14,2006] but those were few and inbetween. It's even gamepad compatible so I didn't need to run JoytoKey or Xpadder, wish I had started making the change as soon as the full 1.0 was out.

I bet the big delay is Rogue. Her mutant abilility to absorb anything and anyone she touches is taking alot of the author's time.

Naw, the truth behind the delay is that ZVitor and I both spend a good part of 2010 working on this game so we both needed a break afterwords. Since then Project X has been receiving a fair amount of work but each ZVitor and I have had a variety of mugen related ventures (and BOR) to keep us well occupied in the mean time.
