Ripping sounds from a .snd file
« on: November 07, 2007, 11:47:06 AM »
Ok, my problem is, is that I'd like some sounds from 1 character to be put into another. My 2 characters are Genjuro's. 1 has many sounds from samurai shodown, the other from SvC Chaos. I would like the sounds from the SvC Chaos to be put into, and combined with the sounds from the other Genjuro. I'm really green at this so I have no idea what I'm doing. As far as I know, all I need to do is rip the .wav files from the sam sho Genjuro from the .snd file, open up a .snd maker, start adding some sounds, click save, an Bob's your uncle.

How do I go about doing this?

Thanks for all the help.

This is how I do it with Fighter Factory.

Open Fighter Factory and click the snd icon which is circled there.

Now click on this folder to choose the snd file you want.

Choose the snd from whatever character you want.

Once you find the snd you like press the icon that is circled.

Now all you have to do is save it to your desktop.

Adding the sounds is very simple to do with fighter factory, its mostly the same process except this time your adding them to your snd file.

Awesome, thank you. I found this tool that came with a pack that I got, MCM or something. I did some figuring out and got that to work as well. But I don't understand something. How does it know which sounds to play, when? If I'm just replacing files, why don't they just play at random spots? Do you see what I mean? Is there a way to actually see when the sound is supposed to be played (like in code somewhere) so I'm not just searching randomly for something I want to change?

Thanks again man.

Whenever you add sounds to your snd file, your also going to have to add the coding in the characters CNS.

Example:

[State 0, PlaySnd]
type = PlaySnd
trigger1 =  AnimElem = 1  -----------------> what animation you want the snd to go off on.
value = 0,0  -------------------------> the number of the sound you want it to make.

Thank you very much. This just got 100 times more complicated then I had imagined.

Not at all, just look at the 1st pic.

You see where it says:

Group

Sound

Thats basically what you add to the code to make that particular sound.
