Mugen Windows Configurator-Like?
« on: December 26, 2017, 08:34:17 AM »
Hi everyone!

Back when winmugen was the latest version of mugen, i used this application, Mugen Windows Configurator (MWC) in order to add automatically all chars i had in my folder, same for stages, creating a tournament like play and, above all, custom in a visual way the Select screen. Since we moved to 1.0 and 1.1 i feel orphaned of this application. I know Vselect in order to add easily chars... but what about the others features? Is there a MWC for 1.1 or something similar? Thank you so much

There is a tool called Visual Select Screen http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/visual-select-screen-editor-updated-01092013-120681.0.html
edit: oh, just now I read your post fully. Sorry, there is no such thing as MVC to Windows 1.0 and beyond.

I'm presuming you want to get all the character names from chars file and copy them into select.def

1- Open CMD (Command Prompt)
2- Type dir /b "(character file directory)" - Don't remove the quotation marks
3- Right click on top of CMD (the name bar)
4- Hover over edit, press on "Mark"
5- Copy the file names (they will be displayed on CMD) and paste them onto your select.def
6- That's it

yeah MWC was a cool software, I still remember that.
I also miss the good old Mugen Character Maker, it had some features (like 4 layers onion-skin) which FF doesn't have (altough FF is a complete software).
