Ace, perhaps you should check the date and think about this more carefully

Dude, that was posted 10 hours ago, can really get any more up-to-date.

EDIT: It's even posted in Japanese on the game's official website that it's canceled.

In hindsight, I'm glad it was canceled. I didn't think it was a good idea in the first placed. I'd much rather see just a straight up Powered Up 2 on XBLA and PSN anyways.

Hasn't Capcom ever lied about something like this before

Besides they wouldn't cancel a game this big without at least giving us a valid reason

I'll take it as legit news, only because they would rather spend less time and money firing up MSPaint and frankenspriting previous Megaman Bosses, resulting in sprites that would require too many workarounds to display properly on the NES, and chopping and rearranging previous robot master themes in MIDI format, then re run though an MIDI-to-NES program.  In short, they'd rather lay tribute to Nintendo's only loved console (along with the SNES and the portables, they received widespread praise as opposed to the Game Cube and 64), while Nintendo themselves are going to fade, because their former game makers would rather make a tribute to them as opposed to actually helping them.

Keiji Inafune's leaving may be a big part, but I was REALLY hoping on using Capcom heroes like RE chars and the like to roam custom levels...

Sad thing is, I would buy this over Mega Man 9 and 10, mostly due to the fact it's presented in a Neo-Classical way, not blatant exploitation like the previous two games.

Never was a fan of 7 or 8, the classic series just works better in 8-bit. Don't blame them one bit. I know that's just how I feel but based on sales, seems a lot of people agree with me.

i agree with ya g lux. i fell off tho from mega man after the first 8 bits. i loved mega man in that format. Mega Man 1 , lawd it was a pain in da rear! \-/o , many sleepless days trying to beat some characters and figuring out others... yeah i was a lil youngin then. rock, paper, scissors method it turned out to be. lol. loved it. good to see if it goes back to the old classical way.

As a kid, I played only 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 until Mega Man Anniversary, I played them all.

I never actually played 7 or 8, so I can't comment on them.  But the year is 2011, so the game should at least look modern.

Lemme ask you this:  If the glory days were the NES era, then how come more than half of it's library were either poor or unplayable games?   ;D

hmmm cool question . i am from farther back. late 70's , early 80's gaming. when the nes hit , it was like a dream come true. to this day i have had more games for the nes than any system i have ever had or owned...until super nes came out then i had more.  :D . todays era games are totally different then yester years ( even if remakes) by tech specs and pretty much everything under the hood, but its the old school fun factor that counts for me. I am a fun gamer, techs dont mean squat to me with modern games cause no matter how awesome looking it is , if it aint fun....dust collector or trade in ..immediately. lol.

Let me ask you this.

you ever heard of Nostalga?

Megaman was mostly 8-bit, 7 and 8 were okay, but not as good as the originals, the only cool thing about them was Bass.

and anyway, that's the case with most older consoles I find. look at the games from SNES, PSone, the the PSone for example had over 2000 games, I HIGHLY doubt there were 1000 good games for it.

I don't understand why your so mad that they decided to make the game 8-bit.
