The only movie I seen with him in it was The Wicker man and that movie was horrible. It wasn't his acting that made it bad, it was the ending. Why do all horror/suspense movies have to end like that?

most horror/suspense films are terrible, my friend.

I would recommend Matchstick Men, Bringing Out the Dead, and Face-Off to see Nicolas Cage in some of his best roles.

While this may start a few flames or whatnot, I just wanna say that I give up. It seems (or should be obvious) that you can NEVER please EVERYONE. And while this is/should be common knowledge I would just like it to be said that some people/fans want their pie EXACTLY as they want/think/feel it should be and NO other way. Hence we have those that feel that when something is different from how they USUALLY view/have it, that having it any other way makes it wrong. I have come to point (ESPECIALLY true when it comes to anime) where I have just one thing to say that I always hope will bring arguments to an end: This is all a matter of opinion. Arguing over one's opinion is subjectively wrong and senseless as it is a matte of choice. Should this be a life or death situation, then of course this is different, but in these cases, can we PLEASE just mark it up to saying that "I don't like it" or "I look forward to this" and the like? I mean of course saying WHY you do or don't like it is fine, but when you go on and on about WHY you don't like something it just makes you seem like you are trying to MAKE people agree with you.

P.S. This was NOT meant to insult or offend ANYONE just to try to enlighten you all on a way I feel we can keep topics like these flame-free. THIS is a matter of MY opinion, and forgive me if I HAVE offended you.

I had a conversation with a friend about this actually, and I think it makes sense:

OwenHartLOL:   it's really barely wolverine
OwenHartLOL:   like... he has claws. and his name is wolverine. thats it
OwenHartLOL:   theres also an iron man one where he fights sapce pirates or something.
DoctorMowinckel:   Looks pretty tacky.
OwenHartLOL:   it's always humorous when they try to mold things for different cultures
OwenHartLOL:   I remember in india there was a spiderman comic where a genie gave him spider powers and he fought literal goblins
DoctorMowinckel:   That's weird.
DoctorMowinckel:   I guess there's a market for this?
DoctorMowinckel:   There's gotta be, if not they wouldn't be makin' it.
OwenHartLOL:   well, not here
OwenHartLOL:   like, they retooled spiderman to fit better with the indian culture and whatnot
OwenHartLOL:   that's probably what tehy're doing with these anime films. I'm sure asians who aren't really exposed to amrvel comics as much as we are will eat them up
OwenHartLOL:   i'll probably check them out, but they weren't really made with the american audience in mind, so I doubt I'll realyl get behind it
DoctorMowinckel:   But you know we're both going to end up watching it.
OwenHartLOL:   the iron man one looks liek it woudl be cool if it wasn't iron man
OwenHartLOL:   like, if it was some other random guy who built a robot suit
OwenHartLOL:   cause somethign in the back of my brain keeps saying "It's tony stark wtf"
OwenHartLOL:   the iron man anime looks very impressive artistically, I gotta say
DoctorMowinckel:   Yeah, definitely not as tacky as the Wolverine one.
DoctorMowinckel:   Maybe this one is farther along in terms of production?
OwenHartLOL:   i think its more that they were going for different visual styles
DoctorMowinckel:   Yeah, maybe.

very very good point. The reason the fans " want their pie EXACTLY as they want/think/feel it should be and NO other way" is well because they are fans, fans of what they are used to seeing and well when you take something that people love and just completley change it there is going to be outrage no matter the opinion. Also since there is no way for the fans to really doing anything about it the only way to vent it to bad mouth what they dont like till their hearts content.

So....is Batman: Gotham Knight a fluke or something? I mean same culture and everything right? Ironman feels right as well. I don't know where anyone gets where he is fighting a space pirate (yes I know the guy resembles old school anime space pirate) as he isn't in space or anything close to that, but atleast it feels believable and right. I don't like chalking it up to "cultural differences" when past titles have been good. Ironman isn't exactly what he is, but it I know it is still Ironman and everything. Wolverine is just bad character design on their part, nothing more. I don't see alot of fans complaining about Ironman or how he is missing his traditional mustache. Hell I understand if they want to "pretty" him up, but I can show you atleast 2 examples of doing it right IMO

Both are "pretty" but atleast you have a good idea both are Wolverine. Oh well, if the Wolverine anime is good, the design CAN be overlooked, but it has to be a really GOOD movie.

Well, anyone that kept up with Uncanny X-men a few years ago would know that there was a SIMILAR version of Wolvie in there too and it ROCKED. I believe Kia Asamiya was drawing Uncanny (or maybe it was just regular X-men) then and I LOVED his art style. He brought an anime aspect to the characters we all know and love (I was SO disappointed that he didn't get to draw some of my faves like my fave X-man, Gambit  \-/o)...also, in case some of you have forgotten, Wolvie is supposed to be this short, stubby little man (though the stubbiness is ACTUALLY because of his build, not fat or anything like that)...this was done right back in the 90s when I think Salvadore Laroca was drawing for X-men...or was it Ed McGuinness?...I've forgotten...gotta find my issues again. So, yeah it's kinda hard to re-imagine outward, so I assume they are trying to re-imagine him inward instead...hmmmmm...on second thought, this is more a moot point I guess, as it really doesn't PROVE anything, but I guess my point is just to try and have an open mind. They're trying to make Wolvie different as to NOT make him boring by doing the same ol' same ol' we've seen a THOUSAND times over. I welcome this new vision of Wolvie, but maybe that's because I'm not an UBER Wolvie fan, but a moderate one...

It could be sweet. Could be really cool and we're all just judging a book by its cover. but i know for me, I just dont like the thought of Wolverine looking like some sort of mentrosexual pansy like he does now in that trailer

gotham knight was made by asians for an american audience. these two shows are made for an asian audience, therefore they take things into account that would appeal to that audience, given the fact that they have a different culture over there.
