Its a computer font file.
How to install:
Go to your harddrive.
Find the folder WINDOWS
Then enter Fonts.
Click file ---> Install new font
find the font on the computer to install it.

MSpaint!? that's pretty good to make it using that program. You should try out Paint.net it's free and way better than MSpaint and you can get plugins for using PCX files too. I use it for just about everything.

I don't hate my avatar, but the first one didn't quite turn out the way I wanted so I went and made some changes. I think my new one looks a lot better, but you see I'm an artist so I'm quite picky about my work and I'm always trying to out do myself, always striving to do better. I'll probably keep fiddling with it till I'm satisfied...that's just the way I am.
@ Teros, I love the new one...old skool Sonic FTW! I like how you used a bigger Sonic :)

Thanks! Yeah, that's why I decided to try to find a new Sonic cause the Sonic 3 sprites are so small. And stretching them equals bad. *lol*

Yup, I know what you mean, I wanted to use Firebrands sprites from Demon's Crest, but they are just too small and stretching them would just make them look butt ugly, so I found sprites of Red Arremer from Namco X Capcom which were nice and big and worked well.

PSD template for the lazy (Requires font.)
1. Drag your layers into the labeled layer groups, and resize.
2. Edit the username text layers (both of them.)
3. Oh Jesus! Prophet.
Alternative for the really lazy: http://www.sendspace.com/file/r4a9d0
Load the image you want to put in the triangle. Load the template. Run the action. Save and close. Then repeat for the other area.
You'll still have to free transform these images to get them to fit.

thanks, I actually did use an iron-man movie image, it's the headshot up top there, in the triangle. Plus I used a sprite with my palette I did for iron-man
after I found my 2 images for it, I downsized em using a simple image viewing program & cut out pics BY HAND in MS Paint

no gradient there, that's just a straight, default maroon type red in MS Paint :P but thanks

I meant the gradient in the image you chose. Did you realize how that would come into place with your composition?

See the subtle gradient in the the promotional movie image you chose? It absolutely does wonders for you compostion. Did you chose this image knowing that or did it just sort of come together spontaneously for you?

v_v i have been defeated
idk where to get the character pics and plus the little v thingy on the sheild i cant find a pic to fit there the text is not really a problem but thats pretty much it help PLZZZZZZZZ
To get character sprites open up a char in fight fighter, go to sprites, and chose save as PCX.

or do what I did by taking a pic pf the screen w/the PRT Scr Sys Rq button, crop the sprite, get rid of any unwanted color, bring it to PaintShop Pro or Photoshop, and make it Gif

well i would but i have no idea how to crop the images i wanna use into the shapes like you guys did. If you could give me some tips and point me to a photo shop or paint shop install that i can keep that would be nice. As i just deleted my Paint shop because i think it had a virus embedded in it plus i dont actually own either program.

Drag a layer from the image you want to the template and place it in the layer set you want it to be in.
I've made this even easier: http://www.sendspace.com/file/r4a9d0
Load the image you want to put in the triangle. Load the template. Run the action. Save and close. Then repeat for the other area.
You'll still have to free transform these images to get them to fit.
Yay for promoting lazyness.

You don't notice it on a light colored background. On a grey or black background it will become very apparent.

Ok, I don't know that program....I use Paint.net to put mine together. Good luck finishing it :)

Instead I first had something called web(then there's a bunch of numbers).

if your using photoshop delete the BG again and try saving as a .gif or a .png again but no interlace that's could be the problem

I don't have the Infinity avatar font, so I used on of my own and I had to shorten your name. If you want me to change it I will.
it's on the first page of this download and all you have to do is go into C:\Windows\Fonts and paste it in and restart photoshop or what ever your using

How do you make moving images? ie the ken avvy.
it's really nothing it's pretty much frame animation for what ever your using
fireworks8(best version), phothshop cs2 and cs3, paintshop pro, image ready
both me and red venom use photoshop cs3 he taught me animation in like an hour just youtube it i'm sure you'll find it something but when you do it with photoshop remember [File > Save for web use] or something along those lines

I haven't put this here either yet... I made a couple of alterations to the shield avatar, just lined up some of the angles and made it finish in a point.

I made the liberty of making the Avatar Shield's much quicker to do by taking out the background so now you can just color & put in your pics & or sprites. :w00t:

Nah. Its better to have the working file, so its easier to add the backgrounds and easy editing once you get photoshop or Gimp down right.
I did upload a PSD file on the first page here (http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=9691.msg114884#msg114884), due to requests for a psd file so I used gimp to change the file format.

It's not that good? I'd say it's pretty good for a first one, well done.same here. It took me a while to figure out to make them. Until one day I messed around with photoshop and figured how to do it and then made my own thread and then teamed up with shinrahunter. Then I got better as I did more.

yea ive been messing around with photoshop for about a month and i want to do more, my next one will be a X-men Power rangers one. I had the shirt when i was like 3 lol.
Edit: Ive got 2 questions, first does anyone know what the infinity mugen font is called?
and second how do i keep my gifs animated on photoshop? oh and heres a third one, can someone lead me to a guide on making animated gifs?
PM me, I have the 'infinity font' Can't rmember the name though.... It only colours the outline but I'm sure you can shade inside on it - never tried this though.
It's used in my team sig.

there are basic instructions in the thread here on site but before you flatten the final image or you have merged the intended overlay you have to send me the PSD via sendspace or something because I have to check how it will turn out once converted to 256 pcx then imported into fighter factory, there are several tricks to this involving tones and opacity to get the image to turn out with as little color loss as possible for use in mugen
you guys already have the skills to slap whatever you want on it, there are just minor details that I can point out if you missed one, but once you know the ins and outs then pretty much you can just send me the final piece, chances are you can get everything right the first time, but by sending me the PSD I can actually see and tell you what can be done to optimize the image quality in stage, it took me about 30 cars to really learn what parameters I have to stay in to beat the fighter factory color loss as much as possible

yea me2 i've been trying to find it again i actually searched for the font that was supposed to be the official and i found it a wile back and you actually had to pay for it i forgot what it was called but last time i remembered it was like 25USD for the font (thanks acey & the other admins)

It's only a basic font and really not worth paying for, if you have photoshop you can just add stroke to any font to give it the outline.

Just, errmm, in the ryu avvy, that doesn't say poe. It might be what comes up when you use japanese font and type poe but japanese language has sounds instead of letters.
looks like kanji but without getting my old study material out, I couldn't fathom a guess right now (there are literally hundreds).... I'll see if I can work it out for ya tomorrow.

the sig... is a deviant only... but there will be a sig temp that will go with the avy temp, witch will have the same rules as the avy temp

As far as animations go, I can't really help with it, some people use imageready (which I got with ps7) some use gimp. you should maybe pm rage or hollow boy, they do animations.

how to u take out the white background?
Simple, Use Irfanview.
If you haven't already, Download it.
Then load up the picture with Irfanview, Then click Save as..
Then change the filetype to PNG.
Before you save, Check the Checkbox that says: Show options Dialog.
It should open up a pop up next to the saving window, Click the checkbox on it under the PNG section that says: Save Transparent color.
After you save it, One more window will appear asking which color to make transparent, Simply click the background and the white BG is gone, Tada, You have a transparent picture. Hope this helps!

use a darker red for the outline.
all that extra stuff is not needed, i think it makes it looks worse. sometimes it looks good sometimes it doesnt.
If you are going to use all that splatter, dont emboss it, makes it look nasty.
use colors that flow.
Then the ava would look perfect.

lol mos def one thing i noticed the last move the chop i should have sped up the frames on those 3 frames maybe the first 2 when the hand goes back past the body. think i made that after the IMT reformat and i was the first one to start animations.

you did it fairly quick too.
after you vanished for some time like some of us do anyway Rage here definitely filled in the Cool factor spot pretty well on the sigs and Avatars. 8)
