Title: The Man Who Broke the Bat
Post by: .Batzarro. on November 01, 2011, 01:30:39 AM
Here's, yet again, the new direction I'm going with Bane. I'm much further on this version than any of the past ones though. You've seen him getting beaten up already in our (Unlimited's) last promo vid. So, here's some shots of an attack and intro.

Plus, showing he still has his smart pal..

Credit to Int for this bad@ss stance.

Focusing on this regular size before moving into his Overdose mode but there are plenty of things lined up for that already.

P.S.
Just wanted to show something on this day, since it's my b-day/Halloween. =P

Thanks, guys. Was just myself for Halloween.. As a Blue Lantern.! :D

As for Bane's bases, he's actually back to my original mix, Alex upper + Tizoc lower. Alex is usually heavily edited though as I've limited his colors down to 5 or 6. Having to completely redo his torso at times. Even Tizoc is edited far more than before as well, trying to get those SNK looks to be cleaner and fit better with that Capcom upper. This isn't an easy WIP, it's usually like doing those single edits I make that take like an hour or two but stretched out into a WIP.

You know, now that I take a long close look at his stance sprite, I can see that. Batzy, you're doing one heck of a job.

I have a couple of decent Alex' on my Mugen but this guy is easily on par with the one I've seen over at CVG.

I can only really comment on spritework at the minute but he is certainly impressive and fortunately doesn't look like Arkham Asylum/City Bane.

Why the heck would Bane need a gun when he can just pound people into the pavement?

His fist can reach about ... 6"? A gun can reach a little futher depending on his aim.

Just like Batman himself, Bane doesn't believe in guns if you remember the story lines, giving him a gun would be like giving batman a gun attack

I agree with everyone on giving Bane a gun, but that doesn't mean this has to be scrapped. Why not use it in an intro or something? He's getting chased by cops, turns around, whips out the gatling and blows them sky high?

Where'd you get that gatling sprite anyways?

Comic cover and I've seen him use in it as well. Hell, I could give him a double sided axe if I wanted to.

If you DO decide to go with the double sided axe, make it the kind of regular attack where you hold forward and hit fierce punch (whatever the technical term is)

That looks great zarro. Nice use of cable also(can barely tell thats the base). You've really come a long way since his first design.

Nah, I'm not gonna go that far. Don't care to give him an axe at all but the gatling gun just seemed so him. Btw, made the gun from scratch. Was a pain to make as well since I couldn't get a way with just having it be a single angle.

Thanks, man. It's the actual shooting sprite that gives away I used Cable, right.? Yeah, took some heavy frankenspriting on the upper body to make. Considering I wanna take a move or two from other chars that wouldn't fit this design at all I should probably get used to it.

Well it looks awesome. I'm trying to make scratch weapons as well. I think I did a good Skorpion but the shotgun can be a bit tricky.

with a minigun like that, the barrels would be rotating, so his hands would definitely not be on the barrels
