Title: 3d to 2d spriting project.
Post by: Xfields on December 16, 2016, 02:06:14 PM
why dont we try something?
we have a lot of talented spriters, but sometimes, its hard to find good bases.
sometime ago i found a rip from x23 converted to with only two colours(black and  pink as background color)
if everyone collaborate, we could have in the end thousands of new bases, from MK, Tekken, MVC, Injustice and many others, including full conversions.
i mean, its possible that the non spriters, can rip and organize, so this way we can create that database.
well
its an idea, but what do you think?

If there are tutorials for a noob like myself, I'd be more than happy to rip sprites/frames from games. That's why I'm eagerly awaiting to buy MvC3 and Infinite on PC, so I can do my part :Terry

By 3d to 2d do you mean spriting a character based on a 3d model or creating a 2.5d character

you mean like screen caps? if is this, then yes that can be done. but the screens need to be very good in order to be able to trace over the sprites. this can be done even in parts, like a person can just trace the outlines that way others can take those and fill in the colors and give it the shading and all the good things. this is a good idea for sure.

Yeah
Verz got the spirit
It can be done in form of screenshots, pictures from the screen

So the steps would be:
Take screen caps of the videos and organize them in folders
Find a conversor that can rise the contrast of a packof images , in order to leave them black and white
Resize it
Then the spriters can do the rest

Its a teamwork and an awesome way pf having high fidelity characters for mugen

Uploaded the normal moves, jumps and taunt for Rashid.

Soon I will upload the specials :)

The gethits will be hard since there's not any video of Rashid showcasing his moves against a doppelganger.

Here :)
