I have no problem using font factory, I have 34 stage thumbnails letters "A to Z" and numbers "1 to 8". The problem now is it's been a while so I don't remember what/where exactly in the stages I should change to correspond to the font letters and numbers, so I get results like this:

The 2nd image turned out well, but then again I'm not sure why...

The change is made in the stages' def file.

Thanks, but why is it that some do not line up in the center like others do? I found out that adding a space in front moves the thumbnail to the center, and adding a space at the back moves it to the left.
like some I have to do this name = "X " just so it centers it in place, why?

You might have made your stage font wrong in the first place.
1) certain characters can't be used, like all the letters in the word "Random Select", this means you can't use "a" or "n" "d" or "o" or "m" or "S", etc...
2) You need to have "R" coded as your Random Select image and you also need the correct amount of space to the left of Random Select image as well.

Ahh, so can I just remake my font to be from "R" (for random) and then the numbers 0 to 34 for the 35 stages?

I'd stay away from "R", it doesn't work correctly when using this method.

nothing, R will not give you the results you hope for.

Use R if you like but if it don't work right, don't come crying about it, you were warned.

wasn't being one, I am only speaking from experience because I made tons of screenpacks that uses the font thumbnail trick and I am telling you, R will not work properly but there is not other way.
You are just hard headed and refuse to accept that.

SyN, he seems to understand that, I think he just doesn't know how to make the 'random stage' option have a custom image. Keep it civil here in help.

"R" = Random Select
It works perfectly in the Super Marvel vs Capcom game and in the X-Men: Second Coming game. To make "R" work it needs to be coded with twice the length of any other stage in the font. For example:
B 640 320
C 960 320
D 1280 320
See how each length is 320 pixles, "R" will then need to be 640 pixles. Just make sure the Random Select picture is actually the same length in the graphic as well (640 in this case.)
Using the numbers only won't work for 35 stages though, because you only have 10 numbers, 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.

Not to mention that I recommend this for a full game only or a mugen compilation that doesn't have tons of stages.
The more stages used, the worst the colors loss you will have.
