Anyone know how to transfer content from a PC to the PSP with just the USB cord?
I just wanna put music and pictures on it.

just go to usb mode on your psp on the main xmb interface. its at the top on the first row of icons to the left of your screen. it says usb mode. Then go to the drive letter it says the go to it, and if its not already added add PSP folder then inside of that add GAMES, MUSIC, VIDEOS and then put files in respective folders. if you want to play iso's off the internet like psp games then you need a custom firmware if you wanna do that hit me up on pm!

I kinda already made thru that process but I noticed that my PSP has folders that say USC000?

(i forget the last few digits). Can I deleter those or are trhey system files that need to be there?

I JUST NOW did that and Im not finding any of the music I put on the system. I opened the PSP folder with Windows and its all there. But I cant pull up the songs in the main window.

um are they mp3 's ? and is the music folder in all caps? the psp requires the folders to be in all caps for some reason forgot to mention that sorry. try that and if it doesnt work then send me a pic of your memory stick file system.

Yeah, I found a README file with one download that told me all that. I got the music to work but now I cant do videos, games & photos. I tried going to the Sony site and using their DL's but everytime I put one on the system it came up corrupted.

what firmware are you guys on? if you are on a regular firmware get a downgrader and then upgrade to a custom firmware. Tutorials are all over the net!

what are the chances with 3.40 OE upgrade to 3.52 M33-4 (dun want 3.71 m33)

you can upgrade without the use of pandora. I upgraded from 3.03 OE - B just get the tutorials on the web. its easy m8.

I just have been using the upgrades that come with the UMDs. Im on 3.52
I know at the Sony site they have 3.71 but I cant figure how/where to save it to the PSP.

my photos work now. I didnt do the ALL CAPS for the folders. Now I gotta figure out the themes.

You need create a forlder called MUSIC and other called PHOTOS

from the looks of it, your one of those ppls that will get your psp bricked.

my advice? dont f**k with your usb to fix the contains in your psp.. there are tuts and programs that help you with this kinda stuff, f**k*** with your usb and the contents in it can seriously semi brick.. and even fully brick your psp.

and if that happens to you, dont even make a thread about how you f**ked your psp, because i warned you about.

o and, i have cfw 3.40 oe by dark alex.

its the best out right now. all the 3.52 mm or what ever are trash.

bricked, means that your psp is on.. but nothing shows.. youll have a black screen.. then after a minute passes it auto turns off.

Maybe I shoulda been more exact. The old one I never touched. I actually picked it up from a friend (and the dummy left a 1gig card in it) and I originally was just going to send it to Sony with 89$ to get a completely new one/refurbished. As far as its diagnosis, I dont know. He told me he had put some pictures and games from the net on it and then the screen & sound wouldnt work. Eventually he bought the PSP Lite. So, i took it knowing it would be 89$ to replace.

Okay anyway I can get videos on there without hacking it? I upgraded it to 3.40 with my Madden. Should I just create a VIDEOS folder? Or ae there other requirements.

I bought Dead Head Fred and it gave me 3.52 but Sony's site boasts a 3.71

Wow, this is turning out to be really tedious.

I just wanted to change the backgrounds, music and possibly put games and video on my psp from my laptop. After these last few days of searching and finding nothing but pay sites, torrents, demos, tutorials, youtube videos, forums, foreign sites, downgrades, downloads, download managers, firmware and all the rest of the other endless CRAP u supposedly need! Im done with it.

I thought it would be as simple as download then click & drag. But apparently not. I was misinformed by others (not from IMT). I figured out how to do Photos and Music so, I can settle with that much. I don't wanna risk ruining my working psp trying to make it do extra things or to fix the other. I'll just send it to Sony. Then sell it to some kid...maybe.
