Being so random of a surprise, I really doubted this being plausible, but seeing how Shaq said it with such a straight face, I now feel like it's a 40/60 chance it will happen. Still on the doubtful said.
If there is a Shaq Fu 2, make it 2D HD sprites and make it way over the top! No need to make it grounded and dark. Make it a decent fighter too, else you won't make much money on it. Make it a digital title for Xbox Arcade or something. I'd try the demo.

Yes, it was. Terrible controls. I believe I did a playthrough on it once and uploaded to Youtube, realized how bad it was and removed it. But, the music was pretty good. I liked the title theme music on the Sega Genesis version. Very catchy to me.

The sound track was good, ill say that. also it played better on the snes but that doesnt make it a good game tho.

I agree I really do not understand why a lot of people hate it so much. I think if Shaq was not in it. People would not think it was so bad. the sprite work was pretty good. And although cheesy I liked the story mode.

The only reason this game got such bad reputation is because of that hater site who would buy cartridges of the game to "liberate" (read: destroy) them.

Most who bought it cause it waaaassssss shaq game...period. even without shaq...it tanks. It was a terrible game with good music. Play it for nostalgia....yes...take it serious....oh hell naw. Lmao but everyone can like it not...everyone I know outisde in the rl and around my age of friends who we all bought that sucker back then when came out all say it was a bad game. If its bad it is really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be there are far and I mean far worse. The characters were all different and had some really cool moves. The concept and ideas put towards the game were good just not well executed. Some of the music was kind of memorable to me also. Take out Shaq and no one even remembers this game. Shaq had some pretty cool moves IMO. Like this swirling cyclone that you could control like Yamcha's(not Krillin) destrokto disk. The animations were really smooth and the backgrounds were highly detailed and varied. Gameplay just needed work. Any fighting game with Shaq in it is going to be laughable. There lies the problem.

Shaq Fu was an terrible game. The animations are very fluid, but they had spent so much time doing the animations that they forgot to care about the game per se.

Shaq Fu was an average game (there's nothing particularly good about it, but I've definitely seen worse), the kind of which came at dozens at that time and would be pretty much forgotten, were not for the fact it has a celebrity on it. The premise alone was stupid to begin with, so it was fated to failure even it ended being a good game.

If you go to the URL at the end of the video, this is actually something they are developing, but it's like a kickstarter project. So, this may never get made if they don't achieve their goal.

I'm not going to play this, but I love that this is happening. I think it's funny and outrageous.

Well, they claim that "There are two, and only two, similarities between our Shaq Fu, and the abomination that was born in the nineties: The name, and the starring character" so it can be a good game...
Though looking on screenshots I can say only this - after victory over Ryu in SF4 something ticked in Sagat's head and he started punching match spectators just for the fun of it. Well, it looks just like that to me.

I agree. In a more positive approach it is really nice to see Shaq so heavily involved in this.This actually has the opposite effect of the original Shaq Fu. This time we see a big celebrity in a game and we get all excited. Looking at the trailer if that is any way a representation of the gameplay I am not sure it is something that I personally would play. Or most people. The animations and models are not really all that appealing. It brings nothing new to the table so far. I think the focus is way more on Shaq and less on the actually game. I hope this does get funded. I usually participate on crowd funding mostly on Kickstarter so I see a lot of potential here. I understand that they want to take this wacky approach which is cool, but I think they need to give the models another go. The more they get funded the better the models should look is how I see it. No doubt this gets funded though.

well it already reach the goal (with alil money from shaq) so this game will be on every game systems(wii-u,xboxone,ps4,ps3,xbox360,possibly the pc and the handheld systems).

plus they are doing contest,parties and a shaq fu gaming tournament and yes cash prizes are included

so we might seen development of this game maybe at E3 later this year.
